Need breakthrough pain relief. Is it possible? ## This is a VERY dangerous practice and not recommended at all!! IS THERE A 7.5 ROUND WHITE LORTAB WITH IP145 ON ONE SIDE BLANK ON THE OTHER SIDE ## This is actually a generic for a medication called Vicoprofen, it does contain Hydrocodone, but it couples it with Ibuprofen, rather than Acetaminophen. Have you ever taken Methaphetamine or something related to it, such as Adderall? Do you take any other medications, even over the counter products? I'm normally get Watson 540 that's my Lortab 10 what is the 500? ## Lortab actually contains 2 active ingredients to relieve pain, the 10 denoted how much of the narcotic Hydrocodone it contains and the 500 denotes the dosage of Acetaminophen it contains. I recently, had my med changed from vicodin 7.5mg 5xqd to lortab 10-500mg tablet. 5xqd question is, "Is the lortab a higher dose of medication than the vicodin. ## Lortab and Vicodin both contain Hydrocodone, a synthetic opiate or opioid, as their narcotic analgesic. As such, your dosage strength increase is only in the amount of pills you are now taking, not in the opioid ingredient. Oxycodone, used in Percocets and OxyContin, is slightly stronger . . . a 5/325 Perc is equivalent to a 7.5 Lortab. I normally get either blue or pink lortab 10 mg for back pain. Today the pharmacy gave me a white one. It's also a 10 mg, but is not nearly as effective. What is the difference in the different colors? ## Hi Lisa, Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may respond favorably with one medication and not the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves. When you switch brand names or manufacturers, the drug itself doesn't change, but rather the binders or fillers that they put with it. i you are prescribed to take lortab 5mg twice a day and you took it 4x a day for 2-3 days can they detect that on the urine test when they send it to the lab? ## Yes, if they are checking the levels of it, then they will likely be higher than they should be and that will alert them to the fact that the person was taking more than they are prescribed. I take 2 opana for pain daily but am one pill short this month. I cannot figure out what happened as I take them as prescribed. I am worried about driving to the pain doctor in the morning because I can hardly walk without meds. If I take 1 or 2 lortab ten an hour before I go and get the urine test will it show? What does lortab 15mg look like ## There is no manufactured Lortab with 15mgs of Hydrocodone in it to describe to you, they are only available with a maximum of 10mgs of the Hydrocodone. The only way someone could get a 15mg would be if a doctor specially ordered it and they had it created by a compounding pharmacy and, if that is the case, there would not be any specific markings to give, since they fill their own capsules. Im prescribed vic 5s but took a few lortab 10s will it show up diffrent In 5 panel, and if they do Gc test can they tell the diffrence.. And does it matter how much is in my system of vic 5s if prescribed. ## If you're prescribed the Vicodin, then I wouldn't worry about it showing up. You can simply inform the lab of this prior to your drug screening and you should no longer be held accountable for its presence in your system. Because Lortab has the same active ingredients as Vicodin, you may just be in the clear if they decide to test for it. Reason being is that the standard tests typically used for screenings lack the sensitivity to distinguish beyond the basic structures of the drug class vs. the drug name. I hope this advice helps! Can they tell the diffrence between lortab and vic 5s on a gc drug tes ## What type of drug test are you referring to with "gc"? I do know that the standard tests typically used for screenings (used by most employers) lack the sensitivity to distinguish beyond the basic structures of the drug class vs. the drug name; hence the reason why so many patients receive false positives. Then again, there is also specific testing, such as that done by a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer, which has the ability to distinguish the exact substance in question. This type of testing is not initially performed because of cost, but, is often a follow-up option for those facing serious consequences such as a job loss or jail time, due to a false reading.
