Lortab Watson Blue Vs Lortab M363 (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

My friend and I are both prescribed Lortab APAP10/500's. I get the Watson 540 blue pills and he gets the M363 white pills. I have taken the white ones before, but for some reason, it did not help me as much as the Watsons. I don't understand this. Besides the manufacturer, is there any real difference between the two different kinds of pills?

Based on my research and conversations with people in the business, it's my understanding they changed pretty much every pill to white. They are each going to have a diff chemical in them so during a U.A. the doc can tell specially what type of tab is in your system. So for people selling their scripts and getting different pills later if they get U.A. the doc will be able to tell the specific type of tab in your system...ll

I have been on pain meds for several years they have switched me around from 2.5/500 - 5/500-7.5/500 then 7.5/325 then 10/3.25 the ones that worked the best were either the blue or yellow 10's or the peach 7.5s however now they have switched me to oxycodone and since being on them have gotten 3 different types as far as shape and color ...I don't think they should be allowed to have different fillers or binders, when you have chronic pain you count on them to work the same way every time you need to take them! :-(

Thank you Mimzy. I have had that question myself. It seems that the pharmacy changes suppliers from time to time so I will call before getting them refilled. I know that the yellow ones always worked the best for me but I don't know the manufacturer for those, do you?

If I go to get my script fill for lortab 10 and ask for brand , what color should they be , I have been getting the blue ones for years And now they all give the white one . And like others the white ones upset my stomach

Bama1, If it is too ealy to get your script filled and your insurance won't pay for it you can always pay cash and get it. If I know insurance is not paying I usually go to a different store to get it filled where they don't have a record of insurance. At one point I only had enough to fill half a script of methadone which made the other half void. Certain controlled subtances you are required to fill all at once or loose the other portion.

Went to the pharmacy today and asked the pharmacist what the difference is between the blue Watson and white Watson and he said that they just aren't adding th blue dye anymore. He also said that starting January 2014 that the FDA won't allow hydrocodone to have anymore than 3325mg of tylenol in them so 10/500 will slowly be phased out along with the Lorcet 10/650.I think that the ones with 325 of Tylenol suck and I won't know the blue verus white difference til tomorrow so what other options is out there if you refuse to take the white Watson ones?

@ anyone that hinks that there is no difference...
1. We are all biochemically different, therefore we will all respond to different ingredients differently regardless if it is active or not.
2. Doctors don't know everything, they only know what they have been taught! Pain pathways are very complex and still not well understood.
3. Bottom line, do what works for you! Try different manufacturers and see if you notice a difference... I do!
PS... I'm not a drug addict so save your breath. For anyone that cares to know I have Ehlers Danlos Hyper mobile type and everything that goes with it!

tylenol does make the hydro more effective have had a script for 500 and 325 both effective but 325 seem to be a bit easier to handle especially when you take 10 a day barely within limits of the max daily apap at 325 exceeds the limit at 500

You need to get signed up with the free clinic ASAP! I don't remember where you are but I know in Virginia, because of what friends have told me, you are originally signing up to be put on a waiting list. They call you when they have an appointment available. Good luck!

I have been taking the pink lortab10/500 for several years with no problem, but since it was recalled CVS has switched to the white 10's with the imprint m363 on them. Not only do they not help the pain at all, but I have been having some type of allergic reaction with itching (on arms, stomach & legs) and numbness in my hands. CVS refuses to take them back & let me pay the difference to get the Watsons! After looking up the manufacturer, Mallinckrodt, I discovered they manufacture pesticides & chemicals! Do I just have to be stuck with these pills with God knows what in them, and be in pain for the next 30 days???

I just don't understand why you are giving her such bad information. First I have been having to use pain meds for 30 yrs and I'm sorry getting pain meds without being able to pay is almost impossible. I'm sorry for her and I know how horrible it is to need pain meds and unable to get them. Is there no family that might be able to help you? Now for that stupid stupid comment about $20 for a 5mg pill is formed only in your mind. What planet do you come from? She says nothing about street buying and your a jerk for even saying such a thing. You say I think you are already there. Do you read before you comment or do you always just assume the worst?

It's all the same crap. Norco, Vicodin, Lortab.. No one is poppin Hydro for the filler/binder/apa. I've been taking the crap for years, bottom line, it all does the same thing. And lol @ "been there" talking about 5/250s, and laughing even harder at paying 20 a pop, I could get 5's for a buck or a buck and a half each. Flamers jump on these posts thinking they know what they are talking about, but to the actual topic of this forum, just goto a doctor, usually its around 100$ a visit... Try to weasel your way outta there with asking them to "bill you", grab your pain script and leave. Depending on the size/type of script you get, a decent pharmacy will charge you 20-40 bucks for a one month supply of Hydro. I get the yellow Norco 10s for 29 bucks, and I get scripted 120 a month. There's ways :)

You are absolutely correct on every point you made. There is a lot of BS all over these pages.
