Lortab Watson Blue (Top voted first)
UpdatedDoes anyone know why Watson generic 10/500mg Lortab is no longer available?
I am a chronic pain sufferer and have been on this medication for many years. Now my Pharmacy has changed to a different generic and they do not relieve pain.
My Dr. told me to change Pharmacies in order to get the Watson Lortab but other Pharmacies don't carry them either. They have a pink one.

FDA NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release: January 13, 2011
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is asking manufacturers of prescription combination products that contain acetaminophen to limit the amount of acetaminophen to no more than 325 milligrams (mg) in each tablet or capsule.
The FDA also is requiring manufacturers to update labels of all prescription combination acetaminophen products to warn of the potential risk for severe liver injury.
Acetaminophen, also called APAP, is a drug that relieves pain and fever and can be found in both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) products. It is combined in many prescription products with other ingredients, usually opioids such as codeine (Tylenol with Codeine), oxycodone (Percocet), and hydrocodone (Vicodin). OTC acetaminophen products are not affected by today's action.
In July, an FDA advisory panel said users of medications that combine acetaminophen with narcotics increase the danger of acetaminophen liver damage and overdose because patients who take the drugs for long periods often need higher and higher doses to achieve the same effect. This means that their livers are receiving higher and higher doses of acetaminophen.
During that meeting the panel narrowly voted 20-17 in favor of a recall of Vicodin, Percocet and five other prescription painkillers that combine narcotics with acetaminophen. The panel voted 36-1 that they should carry a “black box†warning if they were allowed to stay on the market.
But, soon they will limit the APAP content down to< 325mg.
Rather than asking which one they carry, did you try asking if they could order the one made by Watson in for you?
If the price is higher, you will usually have to pay the difference, but many pharmacies will order in the preferred medication for their regular customers.
