Lortab 10-325 Safe To Increase Dose?

I am taking 1 10-325 Lortab after a knee replacement. In the hospital they were giving me 2 every 4 hours. One is absolutely not making it during the night. Can I safely go to 2 or 2 and one half?

It would be best not to raise your dosage, without your doctor's approval. The Acetaminophen in this can be very dangerous to your liver, so taking too much for too long could result in liver damage or failure. That's on top of the habit forming potential of the narcotic, Hydrocodone, that's also in this medication.

Typical side effects from the NIH can include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

It would be much safer for you to speak to your doctor, so they can prescribe something else, if necessary.

Hi. I am better. Nights were extremely difficult so I did take 2 when I went to bed for a couple of nights. I was concerned about the acetaminophen also.

I'm glad you're doing better!

And yes, I imagine nights would be the worst, because you're going to move around, regardless of how much you try not to.
