Lorazapam - Why Am I Showing Up Negative On Screenings

Updated March 7, 2013

I take three 1 mg Lorazepam (Ativan) each day. I also take three 7.5 hydrocodone daily and bp meds, cholesterol meds antacid, Mobic and benadryl - all daily. I had to take a drug screen for my dr because the two controlled sub must show up in my system for him to keep prescribing them to me. The Lorazepam (he said should have shown up as a benzo) was not in my system for a urine screening or blood test. He is not going to prescribe this for me anymore and I have been on this medication for many years - what could have caused this and what should I do?

I cannot answer thequestion but can attest. Ive taken 1mg at night for 12 years. even though i do not fill it as scheduled because it is for 1 mg three times a day as needed so i dont need to. I took 1 mg at 7pm and it failed to show in a utox the next day. I was taken off as they considered it non compliance. there is an answer from an MD to a similar question on justanswer.com good luck. It is a very embarassing situation to be told you did not take a med you did take and basically be caled a liar by your medical care provider.
