medication for bowel/colon problems ## Hello, Are you referring to Lorabid perhaps? If so, Lorabid is an antibiotic used to treat all different kinds of infections. I've read that because antibiotics kill all the good bacteria in the body (including the colon) it can actually cause colon and bowel problems such as constipation. When taking an antibiotic it's important to speak with your doctor about using a probiotic to reinstate good bacteria into your body- to avoid bowel problems as well as an overproduction of yeast which leads to yeast infections and other similar issues.
