Lopressor Brand Availability
UpdatedI use to take lopressor, the long pink pill. They switched me to metoprolol succinate 2 yrs ago. I liked the brand name lopressor better as it had no side effects and kept my blood pressure down. The insurance company said they stopped making the original lopressor then. But now I heard they are back on the market. Does anyone know this answer?

From what I can tell, it is still available, but that doesn't necessarily mean that your insurance will cover it for you, since the generics are usually cheaper.
What type of side effects have you been experiencing? The FDA lists the typical ones as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.
How long have you been taking your current dosage? You may need a dosage adjustment, or to try a different medication.
