Looking For Some Help And Answers!

Hey everyone, I need some help please! I Have been off methadone for 2 months now. I was put on it for severe pain and was a terrible decision to ever go on it in the first place. I have been reading other people's posts and I know people have experienced extremely bad headaches but I have been having headaches where it feels like someone is squeezing my brain plus it feels like my forehead is on fire and it also will feel cold tingling and numb at times. It also moves around on my scalp. just when I think it's getting better the next day it's back. Has anyone experienced this? Does it ever go away? How long did it take to start feeling normal again? I hope this is not permenant! I'm thinking this is caused from neurotransmmiters trying to come back or maybe nerves being damaged and trying to repair themselves or even a lack of oxygen and rest to the brain considering I really haven't gotten much sleep these last couple of months. I just started sleeping a few hours a night. I'm also wondering when the sleep will start to be normal or when I can just lay down and take a nap because I'm unable to do that now. I also came off zanax in December and ambien 1 month ago so it could also be a combination of these meds. Hope to hear from someone soon. Thanks for any replies!

However, I have no answers for you. It can vary from person to person and some people never successfully stop taking Methadone. That's why it's no longer the preferred choice for drug addiction treatment. It is very well known to cause long, severe withdrawals and cravings, resulting in most people requiring a lifetime maintenance dose of it.

The FDA classifies this medication as a opiate analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Have you consulted your doctor? They may have some ideas to help, or be able to prescribe something.
