Looking For Pain Management Doctor Ashland Or Klamath Falls Or Area?
UpdatedDoes anyone know of a good pain management doctor in the Ashland or Klamath Falls OR area? I am new to the area and need to transfer from my current doctor over 1000 miles away as quickly as possible. I am more than welcome to continue treatment with their office, but between the $$ for traveling and the pain the length of the trip would cause I really need to find someone closer. I am willing to travel as far north as Portland OR or as far south as San Francisco CA if needed as long as the doctors are experienced in Chronic Pain management. Everyone I've called has not been taking new patients and has referred me to the next one who has the same issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have been seeing the same doctor for over 10 years and had no idea it would be this difficult to find someone to transfer to. It took quite a long time to find the right combination of meds to allow me to continue working and also let me live a somewhat "normal" day to day life, so it really scares me to find a doctor so difficult to find.. Sorry to go on so long :)
THANKS!!

Do you have a new PCP in your new location, yet?
If so, having them refer you to someone might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need.
You should also make sure that you aren't looking for doctors according to whether or not they will prescribe your medications. Most doctors will view that as being drug seeking behavior. Thus, you need to set up an appointment with a new doctor, without asking about medications up front, then discuss your treatment options at the actual appointment.
You should also make sure they get a full copy of your current medical records. Once they can see what has and hasn't worked for you in the past, as documented by a fellow physician, they will be more prone to prescribe accordingly.
Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
Thanks, that's exactly what I'm doing :). My current provider is happy to refer me and I contacted a ortho to see them to assist. I was just trying to find out names and experiences others have had with any of them. I've been with the same specialist for well over 12 years and it makes me want as much information as possible about the ones in the area. I'd like to make as informed a choice as possible if there are any choices out there.
To new in southern oregon. Keep away from the QUAVE PAIN CLINIC!!!! They will give certain meds, then all of a sudden demand u cut dow!!! I just left their place, they also want your dna, but will not say why, u also have to see the doc every 28 days, further they send your urine to a lab in San Degio, CA. It is very true u need your primary doc to get in, without that it is almost impossible to get a pain doc. For the good news call HELP NOW, located in Medford OR. There is a good chance they can help you. Good Luck
I know this post is from a while back. I currently have an appointment with the quave clinic and I am curious do they watch you do your U/A and how much does it cost? Thank you so much for any advice you have :)
Stay away from Dr. Greenberg in Ashland!!! I saw him for only 4 months!!! He would not treat my pain saying he does not treat abdominal pain but he never once looked at my other diagnosis's. He put me on a different pain medication that later I found out was for opiate attacks!!! In the meantime I ended up in the hospital a couple times from the pain. I told him I went there!! He dismissed me from the practice stating I was looking for another pain doctor and I went to the ER!!! Really??? What are you supposed to do when your pain medication is not working and yes I told them I was seeking a new doctor because he was not treating the pain!!! Aside from his smugness and condescending demeanor, he has ruined my life! Now if I go to the doctor they see I was on this certain kind of pain medication they are reluctant to treat me because I'm guessing they see that medication and think I'm a hard-core drug user?
I am moving to Klamath Falls Oregon on July 3rd 2017. I have had chronic pain in my neck and upper back for several months. I have had cortisone shots in both of my shoulders which helped. I have just had Lortab ordered for 15 days two different prescriptions. I need to see someone for pain management. I just had an MRI done of my upper back and neck on June 14th. Please advise.
