Looking For Dr In Knoxville Tn That Prescribes Pain Meds
UpdatedIn 2012 I had a spinal fusion that didn't go well. I'm partially paralyzed on my left side. I've been going to a pain management clinic & they've had me on oxycodone 10mg 4 times a day & OxyContin 10mg 3 times a day. I've never had a pill count that was off & always passed the UA. Suddenly in November I'm 8 short on my OxyContin & my results come back with hydro in my system. We were renting a room to a young woman & she moved to Texas in November btw did you ever notice how much a 10mg white hydro looks like oxycodone? Obviously I got kicked out of the program. I'm in constant pain & they told me to ween myself off the meds. Even if I could ween myself off of meds in a month that I've been on for 3 years, I'm still in pain. After reading your posts it looks like I won't be able to enroll in another clinic & my Dr won't prescribe bcuz he thinks I'm a junkie. I don't even feel "high" I just get relief from the pain. I'm really scared of going thru detox at home. Is there anyone out there that can help me?
Hello, Hope! How are you? I'm very sorry about what happened.
If you have a PCP, they might be able to refer you to a doctor that would be willing to help you. Just make sure your PCP knows exactly what happened.
The FDA lists this medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions that may help?
Hi, thanks for your info. I haven't been on the computer for awhile, so I apologize for not responding sooner. I was able to find a doctor but he charges $300 a visit, which just isn't doable. I asked my PCP & he wont suggest anyone but hopefully will fill out a referral form for another doc I found that accepts my insurance
Hope do you mind giving me the info to the doctor you found? I changed my medicare insurance to a BC/BS plan that's a HMO and was just told last week by my Dr they don't take my insurance and they have been seeing me for free my last few visits and the other kicker is my primary care doctor doesnt take it so I'm kinda screwed. My PM doctor called me before appointment and told me to make due with my medications until I find another doctor.ugh makes me mad they could of wrote ment months worth of meds until I get in with another doctor because really that's about how long it takes fur them to see a new patient if not longer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
I need a Dr.that may give me 2 mg.xanax. I've had this Headache since May 8,2011. I remember because Friday b4 Mother's Day & hit all at once like a Mini Stroke. The headache is still here & goes away for maybe a month & comes back. It's right on top of crown of my head, radiates in my neck. I've been to Urologist & Never got approved for the MRI. The Xanax 2 MG.is only thing that helps at all & the thing is, I just need maybe a little block to help. Ppl have said "Take 2 of the 1 mg .,but the thing is, I don't have to take the whole 2mg for it to help. There's something different in them that helps me. I just wished someone understood. The Dr.was going to give me Migraine Headache Medicine until he knew I've got a Heart Murmor. It's March 17,2016 today & I'm really needing help with these headaches. I posted the date because of all the so called new laws. I'll check back soon & thanks to anyone who took time to read my post.
You aren't going to like this, but it's the truth. I looked up Xanax is a PDR then asked my pharmacist whose a Dr. There is NOTHING but coloring that differs between a .25, a .5, a
1 and a 2mg. So taking 2 1mg Xanax is the same as 1 2mg. Sorry.
Could you please help with Dr. name and # , would greatly appreciate it. Thank you
The thing is, I don't take the Whole 2mg at once, the 2 mg come in long pill with 3-4 Blocks on them,I take one of the Little Blocks off it, & It helps me with whatever I need it for. I understand the 2/1mgs adds up to a 2mg, except they affect me differently. The 1mg makes me very sleepy. And taking 2 of 1mgs I'm even sleepier. Evidently, Nobody Understands what I'm talking about. Thank You for your Information, I appreciate Your time to Help. Thank You again.
I need a doctor that will prescribe pain meds in Knoxville TN. I have insurance but willing to pay to get in a clinic. Could someone tell names of doc around Knoxville, Maryville and Oak Ridge. Thanks so much!
Jamez, I know of Clinic but don't want to advertise. I thought this page could Message Privately about circumstances like this. If you can't find anywhere soon, I'll let u know who's taking New Patients.
{edited for privacy}. Feel free to share them with me cause I really need something better.
Can I Please have the name of the doctor in knoxville? I just moved here with my 3 year old daughter, no doctor now it's about to interfere with my job and all. I'm worried to death. Between pain restless leg syndrome and insomnia not sleeping I'm barely making it.
Kendra,
As you have seen no one will accurately share specific information about doctors and locations because unfortunately many folks troll these sites for information on easy writing or what they consider " compassionate doctors " to abstain powerful meds for less then legit circumstances. At one time this info. Was freely shared and many patients were unceremoniously left without care as the inevitable outcome were many doctors closed or shut down by over reaching regulatory agencies. So most blessed enough to have this rare breed of prescriber normally hold their identities as a valued commodity. Its the sad state of affairs since March of 2016.I wish I could be of further assistance to you.
I've heard of a pain clinic in knox. They take insurance & also payment if no Insurance. It's $300.00 a visit & they do drug panels. If interested I'll give u more details another time.
If you could share the information I would greatly appreciate it. I'm looking for a legit doc in Knoxville that will preferably take UHCC ins but I won't dismiss a place that takes cash. I've had spinal fusion, L4-L5, slipped/ruptured disc in neck, leg pain, osteoarthritis. Need a doc in Knoxville or Maryville. {edited for privacy}.
Thanks!!
I need some advice! I am looking for a Knoxville Doctor that provides pain management. I was with Tennova Pain Center for 10 years, until they stopped doing pain management. I have a terminal, inoperable brain tumor called a Traumatic Neuroma and I have chronic shingles of the central Nervous system; two types, Shingles and Herpes Zoster, that goes in my eyes, ears, scalp and turns into viral meningitis by going underneath my scalp and into my lymph nodes. My insurance case mgr (I have great private insurance) helped me find a family physician advertised they provide pain management. They used to be Synergy, but were taken over by Coffee Family Medical, off Crosspark Drive. I didn't know this until my first visit. On my first consult, I saw the Physicians assistant, who went over my records and said he had no problem continuing the same pain management I had been taking for years. So I cancelled my appointment with another Pain Center that took me months to get into. At my next appointment, the Doctor who works there (also the Physician Assistant's father) said he would not prescribe the same pain management even though I was told they would at my first consult. I feel like they played a "bait and switch" on my, promising to continue my meds right up until I ran out and had no other option. I am scared if I go to another Pain Center now, they will peg me as a drug seeker or as doctor shopping for narcotics. Since taken off my time released narcotics, I have gotten shingles in both eyes, in my left ear, lymph nodes in my neck and I have developed a fever and feel the swelling in my skull, behind my left inner ear and underneath the base of my skull. It has been years since I have had shingles in my eyes. Extreme stress can set it off and since I have been off my pain management, I only sleep about 2-3 hours a night; The pain has been so bad I cannot get out of bed. Not to mention shingles is the number 1 cause of blindness in the US. I don't know what do? Should I contact the Physican's assistant who guaranteed to continue the pain management (which doesn't exceed the 120 mg a day recommended in TN); be honest, explaining I felt like I can no longer trust them because they broke their promise? I tried to explain to them I have seen over 28 Specialists before finally taking their advice and seeking out pain management, so I could have some quality of life in the time I have left? Will they flag me as nothing but a drug seeker? They should know if I was a patient at a pain center for 10 years, I follow the rules, pass all my drug panels and did everything they asked? I tried to explain to them without the pain management, my health can spiral out of control quickly. The pain from the Neuroma has caused almost all my teeth to abscess and fall out, rotting from the inside out and no Dentist or Oral Surgeon will take me as a patient. I got the Neuroma because a Dentist tried to inj. me with a nerve block for dental surgery and accidentally severed my cranial nerve with the inj. The pain and nerve damage from the tumor is bad enough, and now I have the added pain from the shingles. Plus I currently have a low thyroid from Hashimotos disease, and high blood pressure that gets even higher when the pain gets worse. I also have a huge hiatal hernia that needs surgery, but so far the pain meds have been successfully controlling the related pain, but not anymore. I need some advice. I have never had to look for a pain management Doctor, since my family Doctor referred me to Tennova, in 2006 and they are the only ones to ever treat my pain. It took years of consults with Neurosurgeons, ENT Surgeons, Neurologists, Rheumatologists, Oral Surgeons, Oncologists, Nerve Reconstructive Surgeons and an infectious disease Doctor. The only reason I looked for a Family physician that also prescribed pain medication, is because of all my other health issues and I was looking for a place that could take care of my total health. Out insurance premiums and deductibles have went to 3 times the amount in the past few years and we no longer have a co-pay. I was unable to see all the Specialists needed because of the cost. If anyone has the name of a reputable pain management Doctor in Knoxville, Please post the information. I am also terrified of picking the wrong place and going to a "pill mill". I would still prefer to have a family doctor willing to treat my pain, but at this point, I am desperate and just want to get in somewhere fast, where I can get the pain under control once again.
My husband went to tennis to and then no more he's not been able to find another doctor to help with pain they want him to get shots or therapy which he's done went through what a joke doesn't work! If u know of a dr also he has united health duel complete and some drs won't take that.please help us if u know someone.
I just started going to Omega Pain Management off Cedar Bluff Road. After Tennova closed I had a bad experience with some crooks who advertise they do pain management and they will treat you, as long as they can keep doing procedures and running up your bill. I have an inoperable brain tumor and there is nothing that can be done. My ENT Surgeon gave me a referral and told me the place I was going was a bunch of crooks and they didn't want me as a patient because they couldn't order tons of procedures. I love the Doctor at Omega. He is also a Neurologist. They mainly do Orthopedic chronic pain but he still took me as a patient. Tell your husband to get his PCP to give him a referral. Stay away from Coffey Family Practice! They advertise pain management and they will treat you, making you come back every two weeks....until they over order procedures and run up your bill. They milk your insurance company for every penny they can get.
I need a pain clinic that prescribes oxycodone. In the Knoxville TN. They also need to take my insurance. Blue advantage saphire is my insurance thru Medicare..

I went to a pain clinic for 6 years for fibromyalgia. In November I had financial issues and decided to go to a Suboxone clinic since insurance covered it. I have been miserable. I stay in pain. Then last week had to have knee surgery. I want to go back into pain management. My pain is off the chart right now. Does anyone know where I can go in Knoxville that will treat me after going to a Suboxone clinic?
Try out Beardon Pain management, also check out Kratom, an herb that is similar to narcotics.
Re: Hardhome (# 5)
I really do thank you for your time & opinion. I do however know all strengths of Xanax. I know how many equals what & so on. Nobody understands what I'm saying. The 2 mg (without taking whole bar) helps my Headaches, stomach &etc. I understand 2 of the 1mg equal a 2 ng..My point is, I don't need that much for it to help me. I'm saying, there's something abt the 2 mg. bars that help me & without taking the whole 2 mg. So that's why I don't need 2 of the 1mg or 4 of the. 5 mg.,They make me sleepy with that much. Only a little Spec of the 2 mg help me, (only a Lil Chip if it I remind you). So anyway just wanted u to know you didn't hv to look up to what equals what, it's the type of medicine that helps me, not the amount of the meds. There's something in the Bars 2mg that other Xanax don't hv. IDknow what, I just know the different ways Xanax helps me. Thank You very much for your time.
