Looking For Dr In Northwest Indiana Who Prescribes Methadone (Top voted first)

i am looking for a doctor who prescribes methadone because it is too hard to go to the clinic everyday without a car. i am looking around porter or lake county.

I am in the same place as you & am not good with all this social media stuff but can Google & trying to find same thing. I was going to clinic & couldn't afford to go everyday & was at very high dose & had attendance problems & since I was @ 190mlgs of methadone a day I drank lots of fluids& only could get there 3-4 days a week. They administrated discharged me&had me clime down to 10 mlgs a day till my discharge date of 2-28-14!!!! I still was only able to make it 3-4 days a week & my 190 mlgs climed to 10 mlgs soooo fast!!!! Once at 10 mlgs it wasn't even worth going for me & my discharge date came up.I am going to end up in a body bag.I'm very I'll& have 2 yr daughter& strict bf"babies daddy"he won't let me go to clinic again& he is who financially supports me besides my SSI I get on the 3rd. I do know from aquintances that they with medicade went to a private Dr to get methadone Pills& that's what u& I need however they wouldn't give me drs name:(. I need a name & # of a Dr in either Lake County perrferably or Porter county. Please if u found a Dr please help me. call me {edited for privacy}. My name is Kelly.

I live in Portage, IN I cannot go to the methadone clinic every day I receive 150mgs per day. I need a doctor in Porter CTy or Lake County that will prescribe methadone pills and I have insurance.

Kelly. Getting the name of a doctor isn’t going to help you... You would need to first get a primary doctor, then you need records, MRI’s and if the doctor approves you then you need to go to a pain management clinic. It’s not finding the name of a doctor anymore, you will have to wait till you can even see a doctor depending who takes your medical plan. I’m sorry. I know it’s a b**** but the clinic is your best bet. What do you mean your boyfriend won’t let you go? You need to do what’s right for you...

It sounds like a pain management doctor would be your best bet for prescribing Methadone. I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in locating pain management doctors within your general area.

Many of the results you find (in one or both of the links above) also list a phone number for that specific doctor; I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if they are accepting new patients; some aren't, but most usually are.
