Long Term Side Effects Of Tramadol

My doctor just prescribed me Tramadol for a chronic back pain issue. If I take this med every night, will there be any long term negative effects after a year or two? One more question: what percentage of people who take Tramadol experience the euphoria that can be a side effect of other opiates?

There can be risks associated with the long-term use of any medication. The FDA does classify Tramadol as an opiate, so they do warn that it has a risk of being habit forming. With long-term use, it could also cause liver damage, but that's very rare.

Other typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and constipation.

It's listed that the euphoria was reported by between 1% and 10% of people.

I've been prescribed tramadol off and on for about 2 years. Well, I don't go beyond 100mg/day and sometimes I'd only take 60 mg or so... Is this safe? Can this affect my liver or kidneys in the long run? Though I had a liver and kidney function test that was all normal, I'm still a bit concerned. I don't smoke or drink either... Please advise.
