Lolo: Bad Experience
UpdatedI am leaving a response on this forum because I am really disappointed with this brand of birth control.
I am turning 22 in less than a month and have had struggles with birth control for about 4 years now, I never have any bad symptoms from the pill except for on about the third week on the pill I always end up breaking out with horrible acne, especially in the chin area (mostly painful under the skin cysts). This happened with every type I tried, but felt the worst with Lolo which was prescribed to me by my OBGYN despite how I told her my struggles with hormonal acne from the pill.
I tried Lolo for one month in December, and stopped it due to the painful acne, during my time off from the pill my boyfriend and I had a scare and I took plan B, then once I got my period I decided to give Lolo another go, but the third week I was suffering from mass breakouts and decided to just stop the pack early because I knew if I stopped them the acne would start to go away (it is really THAT painful). I did have spotting for about a day, but I am now about 3/4 days late for my period (which never ever happens to me), I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative, so I am assuming that the Lolo has confused my body and either my period will be very late or I have just skipped it this month. (I have taken plan B before and never experienced a late period from placebo pills the proceeding month, if anything I had 2 periods in one month).
I really don't like how this pill has screwed up my system, I have never been late in my 10 years of getting a period even if I'm switching between birth control methods (which I commonly do due to the hormonal acne). When i'm not on the pill (I have also tried the ring), my skin is relatively normal with little to no breakouts. I was prescribed Diane 35 and I assume I have to wait to my next period to start it.. so hoping this is the right pill for me.
I am just posting this to give warning as I don't like skipping periods because I've been worried ALL week thinking I'm pregnant, the hormonal acne is ridiculous and it's not covered by insurance so it's an expensive pill! So hopefully this helps people who want to go on this pill or are on it and may be experiencing the same problems.

I experienced a similar problem, when I was taking a hormonal contraceptive, it was horrible. The FDA lists other potential side effects as possibly including irregular bleeding, nausea, headache, mood changes, and weight changes.
What is covered by insurance can depend on your plan, and where you live, which is information I am not privy to, but I do hope you find a solution.
Since my age and health conditions have required me to stop hormonal contraceptives, most of my issues have cleared up. (Pardon me, while I take a moment to cross my fingers in hopes that I am not jinxing myself!)
As to starting a new one, you can start it, at any time, but if you are not on the first or second day of your period, it will take 7 days for it to become effective in your body to prevent ovulation, so if you engage in intercourse during that week, you should use a backup method of protection.
How are you doing on the new one?
