Hi, I was confused about what day of the week is was and skipped one of the blue pills in week four. I didn't notice I skipped a pill until it was my usual pill-taking time on Thursday and realized I was taking Wednesday's pill, which was the first of the two active white ones before the inert brown ones. Do I need to take two pills one day to make it up, or should I just continue like usual and ignore it? I am at the end of my first pack, the first weeks were fine and I didn't have spotting until a few days ago. I didn't wait for my period to start the pill, but I have been taking it everyday only off by at most 2 hours (once in a while). Yesterday I started bleeding heavier and now I'm bleeding pretty heavily and I just passed a huge clot. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this just my period? I took a white pill yesterday... ## Hello, Ren! How are you? Irregular bleeding can occur for the first 3 months or so of taking this, while your body is adjusting to the hormones in it. I am almost done with my first pack on Lo loestrin fe and 2 days ago I started spotting, no big deal. It seems to have gotten heavier and I have cramping (I'm still on the blue pills). Is this normal? I haven't skipped any, maybe I have taken it a 30 mins-2 hours later than I planned but that's it. Since I'm bleeding now and almost done with the pack should I maybe just skip to the white and brown pills and have my period and then start the new pack? Hello, I just started taking Lo Loestrin FE and would like to delay my period at the end of the month for a vacation I'm taking to the Caribbean. Do I just skip the last 4 pills (white & brown) on the pack and go straight to the blue pills on the new pack? ## Yes, as long as it's okay with your doctor, you'd just skip the lower dose pills, or placebo pills that would induce your menstrual cycle. Unless there are certain medical reasons that may make it unsafe for you to do so, it is normally okay to do it. You are new to taking, however, so there are no guarantees that you may not experience a cycle, or breakthrough bleeding, anyway. Hi, My period is on 12 th of this may. I am getting married on the same day and so, I wanted to postpone it to 5th or 6th. Can you please suggest me some medications for that. I am realy worried about this ## Hi Kapra, You could always ask your doctor or gynecologist for an oral contraceptive. I know with certain one's (such as Lo Loestrin Fe, Sprintec, etc), if you take the different colored tablets in a specific way it's supposed to alter the timing of your menstrual cycle. As to the exact order of how that works, I'm not sure.. but your healthcare provider should be able to help determine that for you once you let them know about your intentions. I hope this helps!

This is my first time taking birth control and I'm on lo loestrin fe. I have one more blue pill for Saturday then on Sunday is my first white pill. ***When should I expect to get my period? ***This is my first pack, so I really don't know how my body will react to the white and brown pills or what to expect. ## Hello, Rachel! How are you? It can't give you a definite answer, but you should start about the 2nd day of taking those inactive tablets, so probably Monday, but this is just a guess. Im having severe pms and problems during period. Irritability ..anxiety..cramps..loss of short term memory. With period feel psychologically unstable. My doctor til me to start taking the pills right when my period comes but I missed it twice! So I'm on my third day of my cycle so I started to take it is that okay? If you start them later than that, you'll need to take them for a full 7 days, before they will be effective, so you'd need to use a backup method of contraceptive for that week. My daughter had been taking Generesse Fe for a few years now and just started taking Lo Loestrin this past month. She took the white pills on this past Friday & Saturday, and the iron pills on Sunday & Monday - yesterday & the day before and has no sign for her period yet. I just started a new birth control two and half weeks ago. I have been on birth control before, started at 16, with some stomach pains for a couple days within the first month. That was on Lo Loestrin Fe, then I switched to the generic. Now moved out and getting my birth control on my own at 20, a new doctor gave me microgestin. (She was so insincere and wanted me out the door ASAP). For a few days I have felt nausea and severe stomach pain, only throwing up once. But it would go away after a few hours. Okay, so I started Lo Loestrin Fe about 3 months ago and I started on my 4th pack last week.. I have had a period at the same exact time for the 2 packs that I have had in the past (whenever i took the brown pills) but in the 3rd pack I started bleeding in the middle of my pack and it went on for about a week and a half.. After that I didn't start my period when it came time to take the brown pill. I started my pack on a Tuesday and now Im at the end of my pack on the second white pill and it's Saturday. I'd like to start my second pack on Sunday to avoid future confusion. Is it okay to skip the brown pills? I've heard they're iron pills but can cause extra spotting if missed. Hi, I started taking lo loestrin on the first day of my period as instructed. Then, my period ended about two days after taking the first pill. It is very abnormal for me to have a period this short. Is this normal when you start taking this pill? I know it shortens your period after taking it for a while, but could it have really effected my cycle after only taking 2 pills? ## Hello, Sara! I've been on Lo Loestrin for 2 years. It's the only pill that controls my heavy periods. Recently, I stopped taking it (upon advice from dr.) After 3 months, still don't have a period. I had been taking lo loestrin Fe pills for almost 2 and a half months. During the third month of taking the pills I received my period 2 weeks early. I then had protected intercourse the following week and expected my period the next week and it never came. I then followed through with the pills and ended up missing my period for te month of April. I've taken 4 tests and took one this Wednesday at 7 weeks and they have all come out to be negative. I've been in lo loestrin fe for 5 months & for the last 2 and 1/2 weeks I've been spotting. I always take pill exactly when I have 2 & I haven't missed any pills. This forum and internet says this happens at beginning & after 3 months your body should b used to it & no spotting.
