Lo Loestrin Fe- Missed The First Week

I was supposed to start taking my new pack of Lo Loestrin Fe last Thursday but was on vacation and couldn't get it filled till today. My period ended up being longer because of all this and just ended yesterday. Does anyone know if it's for ok me to start the new pack today ( a week from when i was supposed to?) or if i should wait till my next period. Thanks!

Unless your doctor has specified otherwise, you can actually start them at any time during your cycle, however, if you start now then you will need to use additional protection to prevent pregnancy for the first 7 days.

The reason they instruct most women to start on the first day of their menstrual cycle is because then you are immediately protected and no other contraception is necessary.

Thank you so much! I was getting a few stomach pains before, maybe due to the changes affecting my body, but i started the pack last thursday and it's been over a week now, so hopefully my body is adjusting. I just wanted to makes sure there was nothing wrong with starting a new pack after skipping a week. I didnt wanna wait a whole month.
