I've been taking Lo Loestrin Fe at the same time every day consistantly for two months with no period... is this normal?

I've been on lo loestrin fe for 3 and a half months now and i didn't get a period till about 2 days ago. i thought it was the brown spotting but it was a lot thicker the past day and I've also had light cramps. i thought it was a little weird to get it in the middle of my pack. i have been on time with my pill +/- a half hour everyday. its nice not having a period but its nice having a period because you know your not pregnant. don't know how i feel about staying on this

I am 27 years old and have never missed my period. I was taking Lutera for about 2 years with no problems until suddenly I was experiencing side effects... including slight weight gain, severe headaches and insomnia. I decided to make the switch to Lo Loestrin Fe three months ago. After my first month I experienced some spotting when I began my second month of pills. This past month I completely skipped my period (first time in my life!) Now, this month I should have gotten my period two days ago... and nothing yet. I took 5 pregnancy tests over the past two months just to be completely certain. I have been under a lot of stress studying for the bar exam so I wasn't sure if these sudden missed periods were a result of my stress or the birth control. I am relieved now to see that I am not the only one experiencing this.

If you are worried about pregnancy, take a test to ease your mind. When I first switched to Loestrin 24 Fe I had severe bloating and I felt pretty awful for the first few months. It took me about 4 months for my body to get used to the new pill. Multiple forms of protection are always good! :-)

I am on my 3rd pack of loestrin. I have not had a period since using it. Only spotting and my belly is bloated and i gained weight even though my eating habits and exercise routine have not changed. Is that normal

i started loestrin 24 fe in january and had really bad side effects so my doctor switched me to lo loestrin fe. before i started, my period was always heavy and regular, to the day. and now that i started this pill, i had very light periods the first two months and these past two months i haven't gotten my period at all. I've taken many tests and they've all come out negative. i hope it really is normal for this to happen!

I haven't had a period in 11 months after I started taking Lo Loestrin FE. It's perfectly normal not to have a period according to my doctor.

I started taking Loestrin FE in January. From then until June, I had a period that lasted 5 days... every 10 days. It was awful. Since July, I haven't had a period. I've taken 4 pregnancy tests... all negative. It would appear that this is, indeed, normal. Phew!

I am going on my second month taking loestrin. I had never missed my period until now. It's a relief knowing I am not the only one. It just feels abnormal since I am not used to this.

i have been on lo loestrin fe for 6 months now and i go from no periods for over a month to 2 in one month and they are all random. I went to my doctor for my check up last week and she said this happens because it is too low a dose. she is moving me to a high dose pill. hope this helps

Phew. I was just starting to google if it was normal to not get any period or spotting at all on this pill. I would say I am on my 6th month with it and don't recall having a period ever. I had a procedure done in the gyno and she did a pregnancy test and it came back negative. So happy this could really be true! I mean for a few days I feel symptoms like I am going to get it but then it never comes and on to the next pack! I am much more at ease but I will probably take a home test just to be certain.

I have been on this bc for about 14 months now. I usually have regular periods, very very light, but I have also missed my period completely once or twice. Every time it scares me to death. Though I am married, children are not really in the "plan" right now. I am four pills into a new pack and still havens started my period. Let the nail biting begin! Will take a test on Friday if nothing happens before then. Though I love the lack of side effects associated with this pill, the sketchy periods are unnerving.

I am on my 4th pack and now I am missing my period... the first month I had sporadic bleeding, the second month it was normal... then the third just spotting and now nothing... I have all my PMS symptoms but nothing... I am sexually active and I am starting to get worried but I take my pill daily, have forgotten it once for a couple hours when on my second pack... and I ALWAYS have PROTECTED sex, checking the condom afterwards... after reading some replies I am feeling a lot better and assuming I shouldn't worry too much...but it is still annoying to not be having my period specially since I have the symptoms and cramps... I just want to hear opinions about this. Thanks.

I am having the same issues as all of you. I have been on Loestrin 24 fe for almost 2 years now. I haven't had a period since July. I have taken every brand of pregnancy tests and all have come back negative. I have cramps, bloating, all the normal peroid symptoms, just no bleeding. I think it's just the pill.

I'm a nurse, just to let everyone know that low estrogen birth control pills sometimes cause amenorrhea ... Our hormones are suppressed. Birth control prevents ovulation or helps regulate it once a month and sometimes some women don't get a period. Don't worry about it. It's an awesome and good thing ESP for girls that go anemic during their period. :)

Shirley - are you still taking the active pills AND getting your period after several months of NOT having it? I haven't had my period since December when I started this pill (LoLoestrin FE) and I don't get a period on the placebos, however, last week, about4 days before I should have my period, I had some bleeding but it only lasted an hour or so then nothing until now...I'm on day three of my 5th pack and I have bleeding and cramping today....so strange.

I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 13 months. I always get a light period on the second day of my inactive pills. This month I got light spotting a few days before I was due to start my period and light spotting on the last day of my inactive pills that I originally thought was my period but was just spotting. I have never missed a pill. This month me and my BF had unprotected intercourse a couple of times. This is normal and usually my period is right on time. I am freaking out. Could I be pregnant? This has never happened. I have been very very consistent in taking the pills though and always take them precisely at 9 pm and he never finishes inside me.

Hey your going to be relieved because Im on Lo Loestrin Fe and I don't get periods now anymore and no im not pregnant and yes my bf and I are not using any other form of protection. Even if you get a mild period at first your period will be VERY light for 2 days and I feel will eventually go away (mine went away in the second month and I havent had a period yet! and when I did I basically had no cramps! Your going to love this pill!

I started this pill a year and a half ago and I have had regular periods up until 3 months ago and have stopped having them. I too was concerned and called the doc. We did a pregnancy test and it wa negative. The doctore says because the estrogen is so low that I will not produce a lining, thus not having a period. So for now I will take that answer and enjoy not having one. :)

Hey girls

The period loss seems to be completely normal. I was in complete panic mode when I missed mine the 4th month on lo estrin fe 24. I had had very light (two-one day) periods the previous months, then it completely disappeared right after my and my boyfriend had unprotected sex. My doctor said it was normal but I took a test which turned up negative. But still worried I went in to my gyno and they ran a blood test which also came back negative. I think im going off this pill just because I actually like my period without it I don't get that once a month "YIPPEE NOT PREGNANT" feeling :) Also I take mine every night exactly on time and have been told that getting no period can be a good thing on this pill because it means you are taking it correctly and not ovulating at all.

this may help ease your mind or maybe not but I've been on this pill for 3 or so years now. I had normal periods the first few months but then they completely stopped. At my last doctors visit they asked when my last period was & being unsure because I haven't had one in a very long time, I said I don't know. They then asked what type if birth control I was on & when I told them lo loestrin fe, they assured me that this specific bc pill can & will stop your periods. Although it is worrisome at times, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue.
