Lo Loestrin Fe - Missed Periods (Page 4)
UpdatedI've been taking Lo Loestrin Fe at the same time every day consistantly for two months with no period... is this normal?
everyone should stop worrying, my gyno told me that on Lo Loestrin its quite common to not even get a period, there are no sugar pills, each of the last 4 pills a month still have hormones in them and technically your period could only be two days because those last 2 pills have th eleast amount of hormones in them. I've been on it for 2 months and have yet to have my period, but am also not pregnant.
Girls, I was looking for a reply on this subject of not getting your period on lo loestrin fe. But after reading the replies, I am shocked at how many comments are admitting unprotected sex with boyfriends. Please get smart and protect yourselves from stds and also unwanted babies!!! It's not worth it...
I just took my last brown pill of my first pack of lo lo and for the last maybe 3 or 4 days I have been having major discharge some brown but mostly thick and white me and my finance don't use any other protection so I'm worried because I haven't gotten my period while I have had some cravings which is usual for cookies and stuff and some light cramps but no period I'm freaking out and does this pill make you pee alot during the last few pills
Hi. I am a 27 year old healthy/ fit female who has never liked the idea of being on birth control pills because of bad reactions in the past... Such as crazy mood swings, chest pains, weight gain, etc... I went to my doctor and he talked me into trying Lo Loestrine Fe because it only has 2 hormones in it vs. all the other brands like Yaz which all have at least 5 or more. He said that it would take at least 3 months for my body to fully adjust to it, so i gave it a go. I have always had a relatively light periods lasting 5 days. First 2 days were of heavy bleeding and god awful cramping, 3rd day was "ghost period" where my period compleatly disappears for 24 hrs (weird, huh) and then light brown discharge the last 2 days. I always got bad PMS, bloating (to the point where my jeans wouldn't botton), extremely tender breasts (to the point where I couldn't jump) and cramps. Once I started this birth control, I experienced light brown discharge for two straight weeks within the first month and a one day period to follow... After that, I have yet to have a single period symptom, no PMS, no bloating, no mood swings (my BF loves it) no cramps, especially no soar boobs and to put the icing on the cake, no period!!! I have been on Lo Loestrine Fe for 6 months now and love it! I know the prescriptions are expensive, but it's well worth all this freedom in my opinion. At first I was worried that something was wrong with my missing periods but after wasting so much energy worrying and money on pregnancy tests, I just realized this pill was true and works. So I began to trust it. I'm no doctor by any means but I seriously wouldn't worry, and if you're just starting out on the pill, you have to understand that it takes time for it to harmonize itself to your natural body rhythm. You might get cramps and you might have spotting in the beginning, but the important thing to remember is to KEEP taking the pill and all those symptoms will melt away like a bad dream. I also want to note that the more on schedule you are about taking the pill everyday at the same time, the quicker your body will adjust and the better the pill will work. I hope this helps!
Definitely normal to miss your period with this pill, my doctor has assured me of this several times, ha. I take it for recurring ovarian cysts with some success, but it's the only pill I've been able to take without getting constant migraines. I've been on it for a year and some months I get two full periods (one in the middle of the pack, one after taking the brown pills- husband is not a huge fan). Some months I get nothing at all. Annoying, being someone who ALWAYS had very regular periods. But it's worth it to control the cysts, and the periods and cramps I do have are very light and manageable. Bottom line- don't freak out- it's most likely totally normal.
Hi! I'm on my 5-6th month of loestrin and Saturday night I forgot my pill, had unprotected sex Sunday morning but he did no cum inside me, then took the pill immediately after (that's when I remembered) and then I forgot my pill Tuesday night and took it Wednesday at 6am. What I'm worried about is that on Thursday I had unprotected sex but he finished on my stomach, stupidly, I stood up and a SMALL little drop rolled down close to my vagina but I don't think it got in. That same Thursday I took my 2nd brown pill and I just took my last one last night (Saturday night)...I never had a period..should I be too worried?? Honest answers.
I don't think you should be worried, but honestly if you are having a hard time remembering to take your pill every day, you may want to talk to your doctor about using a different method of birth control. especially for this pill, because of the low hormones, it's extremely important to not only take it every day, but at the same time every day.
Okay. So I've been on birth control 4 monthss I iused to get my period heavily. Now this past month I've had my period 2 times. Now this month I havent had it at all,not even spotting. Is this normal
same exact thing has happened to me several times now. annoying, but my gyno assured me it was normal with this pill. if you miss it more than two time in a row, make sure you're not pregnant, but not getting your period at all with this pill can be totally normal, too.
I have been on lo loestrin now for about 6 months. The first three or so months I would only get light spotting when taking the sugar pills but for the last few months I have not gotten a period at all! It has freaked me and my boyfriend out and I have taken at least 12 tests in the last two months. I am SOOO glad to hear that this is normal. I thought I might have something wrong with me since I have always had a normal period like clockwork before this pill.
You are not the only one. I have been on Loestrin for two months also. When I got past the inactive pills my period had not yet started. I have waited an extra week for my period to start before starting my next pack but it hasnt come. Ive taken several pregnancy tests that show negative so ill just start my new pack this sunday.
My boobs hurt like 3 out of the 4 weeks, really bad. It sometimes it even hurts to walk. I have even gained weight. And after the second week of my pills I bled a lot for about 2 weeks. And then still had a normal period. I have unprotected sex everyday and am not pregnant. So, yes your symptoms are normal.
Can't express how relieved I am to find this forum... On my second month taking loestrin after switching from tri sprintec and no period ye!t...Took a pregnancy test which came back negative but he missing period is still weighing heavily on the back of my mind!
I have been on this bc for about 14 months now. I usually have regular periods, very very light, but I have also missed my period completely once or twice. Every time it scares me to death. Though I am married, children are not really in the "plan" right now. I am four pills into a new pack and still havens started my period. Let the nail biting begin! Will take a test on Friday if nothing happens before then. Though I love the lack of side effects associated with this pill, the sketchy periods are unnerving.
This is my third month on this pill. This month & last month I missed a day. But I took the pill the next morning if that matters. First month I barely had a period and the second I had a regular period. This month I haven't had my period and im 3 days into the new pack. I had cramps the whole week I was supposed to have my period though. Also my bf and I have unprotected sex, but we pull out. Kinda worried but seeing this has relieved me.
Hey yall,
I have been on loestrin 24 since I was 17 (and am now 22), and my body acclimated fairly well, and I rarely ever have a period (I mean like maybe 2 a year). I just wanted to let you know that after talking to my OB/GYN who is a specialist at Duke (I also have vulvavistibulitis), that as long as you are not trying to get pregnant, you do not need to have a period. Since I am sexually active, I take a pregnancy test every 6 months or so just to make sure. But I just wanted to let yall know that this will not cause complication and is natural for some women taking loestrin
I took lo lo estrin for a year before coming off of it to conceive our first child.. I NEVER had a period while on this pill- came off of it, had a period right away, and became pregnant. I am now back on the same pill, had a period the first three months, fourth month got my period exactly back on track, and now.. no more periods. This is completely normal and you shouldn't worry, I was worried sick all the time and spent so much money on tests, it's normal.. no worries!
It's normal because the pill is thing you hormones that sometimes make you gain more weight and your boobs hurt because they are possibly growing. (The pill does that too) since I've started taking that brand my period got lighter and lighter and now I'm supposed to have mine and it hasn't come yet. Since the last period I think I had Protected sex twice and he pulled out both times like always...so it's highly unlikely you could be pregnant...the pill does that. If you're worried just take a test and tell your OBGYN
Think you could ease My mind?...I've been on Lolestrin since August and every month my periods got lighter and lighter and now...I don't have one. I'm late. Since my last period I had protected sex twice and he still pulls out anyway,I also always take my pill 9:30-10 99.9% of the time...but I'm still on edge...what are the chances?
I have been taking lo loestrin for a little over a year now & I used to have a very light period for a couple days. I usually am pretty good about taking my pills every day. I recently though have not had a period at all with the past 2 packs of bc, and the last time I had sex (& used a condom) was on November 2 which is 5 1/2 almost 6 weeks ago. But these past 2 weeks I have been unusually tired & had bad headaches & have been havin some weird feelings in my stomach which is kind of freaking me out. I really don't think I could be pregnant but at the same time that's all I can think about! Ive taken 2 pregnancy tests since ive last had sec & they have both been negative...should I be worried?
