Lo Loestrin Fe - Missed Birth Control Pill (Top voted first)

I accidentally missed a Lo Loestrin Fe pill on a Friday due to being busy at work. I took a pill the next evening (Saturday) not realizing that I missed a pill. I was intimate that same night with my significant other, but I took the pill beforehand. Sunday evening I take my pill and realize my mistake and took a second pill that was missed. I've taken the pills the past 7 months without missing a pill. This would be my 8th pack and still on the first week. I plan on taking Plan B to prevent a possible pregnancy, but I wanted to make sure if in any way I was still protected and what are the chances of becoming pregnant?

I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about. Missing 1 pill is not a big deal at all. Have you ever considered get on the Depo shot? I was on it for years and loved it! It worked great for me bc i could never remember to take my pills. Either way, i think you're fine and don't have to worry about missing 1 pill. Good luck, sweetie:)

I have to agree I have 4 children and prior I was on birth control myself the pill and had missed quite a few many times unfortunately, if you read your information to your birth control you will see if you miss a pill to immediately take the other one and it seems like you did just that I don’t think you have anything to worry about. But for precaution if you’re not ready yet, I would definitely try Plan B. Just please read a lot about Plan B before taking it. I myself had to take it once and became very sick and excruciating pain’s that felt like labor, I was sent to the hospital for further evaluation it turned out that I could have a been pregnant and experienced a miscarriage, or B) had a severe bad reaction that comes along with the plan B .

Hi Nessy! Please be advised that missing one or more pills has a higher risked of getting pregnant; however, if you took the missed pill as soon as you remembered it and took the pill for that day, which means you took 2 pills in one day, then you should be fine.

Every missed pill does increase your risk of pregnancy, though the risk is not as high as if you had missed several, or weren't using any form of contraception, according to NIH studies. NDC code: 0430-0420 The FDA warns that it may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, dizziness, irregular bleeding, and PMS-like symptoms.

However, there is no way to say with any certainty what the chances are of your becoming pregnant. Have you tested for pregnancy?

I'm not really sure what you're asking....I hope it's not what I think you're asking. If she's not wanting to be a mom yet, adoption is always a good option. Dropping the baby off at a Safe Haven area (hospital, police dept, fire dept) is also an option. There are plenty of doctors that will (illegally) do late abortions but I definitely would not advise she do that. Unfortunately, if she is pregnant, no matter what she decides to do with the baby (i.e. adoption, abortion) she'll never be the same mentally. I'm sorry to say that but it's true. I hope everything works out for you all.
