Lo Loestrin Fe And Continuous Bleeding (Page 15) (Top voted first)

I started taking Lo Loestrin FE on Feb. 2nd and it is now Feb. 21st and I have been bleeding non-stop (literally all day, every day). Doctor says to wait it out for 3 months... 3 months of non-stop bleeding? I've heard of breakthrough bleeding but this crazy!

I am SO GLAD I found this. I just started lo Estrin fe kn the 1st day of my period and I have not stopped bleeding since. No cramps or pain though. Just bright red blood. At this point it's been 2 weeks, which is less than some of the posts here, but still freaks me out. I'm calling up the doc this week but I was just curious if this was a common thing. I'm sure I'll be told to let my body get used to it. But at this point I would rather just stop... find something else.

Just an update. I bled heavy for nearly 2 weeks. My doctor switched me to Mili. That night, I continued bleeding heavily through that night and had huge clots. Came out of the bathroom and I felt like I was going to fall over so I had my fiancé take me to the ER. They gave me provera which didn’t really work. Followed up with my dr and she put me on tranexamic acid. Happy to report that I am no longer bleeding. What a rough 3 weeks! My fiancé felt so bad for me he volunteered to take me to get a pedicure!

I'm on my first pack of Lo loestrin Fe after switching from Yasmin. I started bleeding five days after I began taking the pills. I bled for about ten days then the bleeding stopped. I have four more blue active pills left until finishing the pack. I am working out every day to counteract any unpleasant side effects while on this pill and I'm feeling great. So far so good.

This makes me feel a little better. Have been on Lo Loestrin for 7 months. First 3 months were heaven, next 3 months no period at all, and this month I'm on day 10 of the heaviest period with not end in sight - which started 2 weeks early. I've stopped taking the pill for 3 days now and I hope the bleeding stops. I'm still a little worried.

I have been on the LoEstrine 24fe for a whole year as March 2013 and it has proven to be the worst choice I have ever made as far as birth control. I've had breakthrough bleeding every pack and then some I didn't bleed when I was suppose to at all. I have gained 15 pounds since starting this pill and constantly have a bloated looking belly that I never had before. I have been taking birth control for 8 years now and wish I had just stayed on the Yaz I was taking. I've never had any issues with it. I thought that I could put less hormones in my body and it would be healthier (boy, I was wrong).

Yeah I was having the same exact problem and my doc said its too low so switched to to microgestin fe 1/20 today.

Hello. I am on my last blue pill on the 2nd pack and havent started my period yet. Finally a whole month of no bleeding. I was bleeding soooo much during the 1st pacl of loestrin but so far so good honestly i just want to be normal.i want to be one of those woman that know when they will start.

I have this problem! I carried on taking my 2nd pill packet in the hope id stop, however no luck! Ive been on for a whole month with a 3 day break if youd call it that! Went back to the doctors who have changed my BC pill again. Because of the lower estrogen contained it doesn't 'stem' the bleeding when it should!

I agree, if you are bleeding, you should get off this pill. It is such a new pill, no one knows the long term effects. AND everyone who has had this bleeding issue should please report it to the FDA so it is documented. Lo Loestrin Fe can't be safe!!!

I stopped taking them after 7 days, because I usually get my period for about 5 days. Hopefully the bleeding stops since I stopped using them after a week. I cant take this crap, for now I'm just gonna use condoms and spermicide, and just tell my doctor to change my dose. I wanted to stay with lo, because of the low hormones but I cant take the 3 month crap, I love sex too much, and my bf just came out of jail after being incarcerated for 4 years so he is frustrated as I am. Lol!

I just started Lo Loestrin Fe, 4 days. I started this after 10 mos of no bleeding. Dr thought my numbers showed menopause (I'm 48 1/2) I went on the estrogen patch and progestrone pills. Began bleeding on 9 th day (haven't stop bleeding yet). She gave me 4 samples of the Lo Loe Fe. That should have been my clue that it's unknown and they don't know a thing about it! Drug pushers. This site has been eye-opening and frightening. I had to get a blood transfusion in July during gallbladder surgery. I'm scared and dont trust the gyn. I have fibromyalgia and this cramping is increasing pain 10- fold

I stopped taking the pills within the third week, and after a week the bleeding stopped and I got my period on schedule. It is recommended though to quit the pills once you have finished the pack. So to be safe that should be your option.

Why not try a diaphragm instead of BCP's. Less side effects (like cancer and mood swings).

i had the same problem, i bled for 2 and a half marathon months, TO ALL GIRLS, DO NOT GET THE DEPO SHOT! bet lo lestorin worked for me :)

Been on loestrin fe for last couple months..first time am having nonstop bleeding..have fibroids, cysts..reason why I was put on it because of heavy cycle..worked well at first until now...second week od bleeding frustrated already since am already anemic..help!!!!!

Done..I am done with this pill. On the 14th pill of this pack and I am wearing a tampon! I mean really...who gets a full on period in the middle of the pill pack? Ridiculous! :) should I just stop again....or finish the pack?
