Lo Loestrin Fe And Continuous Bleeding (Page 10) (Top voted first)

I started taking Lo Loestrin FE on Feb. 2nd and it is now Feb. 21st and I have been bleeding non-stop (literally all day, every day). Doctor says to wait it out for 3 months... 3 months of non-stop bleeding? I've heard of breakthrough bleeding but this crazy!

I have a condition called PCOS. My doc started me on lo loestrin a week and a day ago. and another med, I started bleeding yesterday. Wasn't anything too crazy, just like the end of a period. But then i was woken up in the middle of the night and had to go get a pad because I was bleeding through my shorts. Im 18 and this is my first time using contraceptive stuff. Should I call my doc? I just don't know what to do.

Hey ladies. I just started week three of this non sense. I have been on lo lo for almost a year. This is the first time I am seeing side effects and it has me upset. I stopped taking to the pill all together and when I go home next month will try something different. We shouldn't have to suffer this way.

Update: I stopped taking Lo Lo as of a few days ago, 6 months in as I said below and I had my period ALL month this month, I was so wiped out that I have been dizzy and sick and due to the constant bleeding and general unclean feeling it gives you I've been plagued with UTI's all month.
I am done with this stuff. I will be getting a IUD or having the Essure procedure. Never again with Lo Loestrin.

I'm expiriencing the same thing, my doctor put me on these pills to shrink a cyst as well, I've had the essure procedure 2 years ago, so dont need these evil pills for BC, but I've stopped taking them 2 days ago beccause I can't take the bleeding and I have been a little irritable, which is NOT me at all. I'm leaving on my honeymoon in 2 days, and don't want to bleedthe entire time, so I just stopped taking Loestrin. Just a little spotty now. Hope this ends the break through bleeding.

I too experienced mood changes. pretty lethargic feelong. I could only handle 12 days of this stuff, and kept having a dark bloody discharge. No thanks. I usually go the natural route n used to take.an herbal supplement called wild yam, which is what birth control pills originally were derived from. The day after I stopped Loestrin 24 my moo d was better. No more short temper! No thanks Id rather live w the ovary pain than those symptoms along w shortness of breath n pressure behind my eyes.

Loestrin is horrendous!! I'm on my fourth pack and have bled HEAVILY the entire time with clots. I'm also acting and feeling like the exorcist while on this. My Dr. Had me stick it out for three months - but no changes. Switching to Sprintec after this pack & can't wait!! So relieved to find this site and hear how many other people have dealt with this. Yowza!

I was put on these to get periods regulated. I have taken 5 pills out of my second pack and shouldnt be bleeding.. but i'm spotting, clotting bleeding just enough to aggravate and wear a light day pad. I wonder if it will eventually stop? and hurting like i'm ovulating every day and feeling bloated. I dont want to have to deal with all this hurting when i start vacation on the 17th.

Started lo loestrin fe last Monday on the first day of my period... it is now over a week later and I'm STILL bleeding. The first two days it was light but then got heavier, then stayed steady. It's not just spotting though, it's a lot heavier than that. Sooo annoying! I've also had cramping every single day since starting it. In total it's been 9 days. Calling my doctor tomorrow... :-/

First month on Lo Lo. 10 pills in. Brown spotting, enlarged tender breasts, bloating (like PMS), tired, vaginal dryness. I want to just stop mid-pack and induce my period to relieve the discomfort. Is this a bad idea? If I just start another pill now, mid-cycle, will the bloating reduce without forcing a period first? I feel like my uterus is going to explode!

this is my third month on loloestrin fe. i guess my periods are lighter, but now they're a day longer and i get them every ten days as opposed to 30. yes, every tenth pill, so that means i'm bleeding, cramping, breaking out, crying and nonstop eating roughly 10 - 12 days a month instead of 4. never a break between pms-ing and bleeding. this is definitely effective at preventing pregnancy though -- it completely prevents sex.

I started my first birth control, Lo Loestrin Fe, on April 6th and had the initial side effects: med-light spotting for about a week and half, a few mood swings/depression sessions, acne and some hair loss. I'm on my second week of my second pill pack and I haven't had too many side effects and the acne subsided. I got my period yesterday, so still not regulated with my not-so-consistant cycle. So far it has been lightish compared to my normal semi-heavy flow and the cramps have been painful at times. I'm going to continue to keep taking it for another month and a half since it hasn't been too bad. But we shall see if I start to encounter any of the problems listed above. Everyone's body works differently so I hope everyone is able to find something that works for them.

That is ridiculous. I began taking Loestrin because of my endometriosis. My doctor told me that such side effects - bleeding, excessive nausea, and such, were normal. However, she said that if it continued past THREE weeks, that I should have another visit to consider a different birth control.

I started taking this a month ago (older & trying to lighten my period) and I'm so very tired. I also have a period non-stop. And I have water weight gain. I'm with you!

Lo Loestrin Fe has been my first BCP, I've been taking it for a month now, had a Light Period at the beginning but have NOT stop Spotting ever since. Really Dislike that. Talked to my Doc about it and suggested to take it for the following two more month, to get my body use to the Pill, really!! Don't think I'm going to do that, Definitely requesting a Change of BC!!

Hi ladies.. Constant spotting or light bleeding, bloated tummy, headaches, sleeplessness, and severe cramping .. And dont forget about dryness.. Ugh i cant wait to see my gyn and get back to loestrin bc this lo loestrin is not working properly.. Constantly feeling down and crappy.. HATE IT! I am reporting it to fda because it is not working properly and it is making me concerned about my future fertility as my husband and i are going to get off bc soon to start a family.. I hope tere are no long term effects on the ovaries.. Good luck to all users!

I just started taking this pill, I'm really frusturated because I took the pill so I can have sex but now I'm constantly bleeding and I can't that would be gross! I stopped taking the pills soon as I realized they were giving me cramps and crazy breakthrough bleeding. It's been three days since I stopped and the bleeding is only getting worse.

I am experencing the same thing, I want to stop today 2 full weeks into the pack. What happen when you stopped taking the pill? I wanted to stop bleeding for next week's trip. Not on if for bc but for cycle maintenance. Thanks

Hi there, I'm finally put of the continuous bleeding stage and on the 4th pack I have had no period at all... So depending on your perspective on periods it may be worth it to wait it out.

My doctor put me on Lo Loestrin FE and I feel horrible! I am on my second pack and I am taking it because I have Polycystic Ovairian Syndrome and I the second week on it I started my period and bled heavily for 18 days. Then I finally stopped and 5 days later started my period again and it's heavier than ever! My docter said to wait for about 6 months for it to take effect! 6 MONTHS?! You kidding? Im moody, amnd sick and tired alll the time. I dont know whats wrong with me. I feel depressed too. I stopped taking it 2 days ago and Im hoping the bleeding stops. So girls, I DO NOT recommend this to anyone!

I have been on lo loestrin fe since May. My doctor said spotting inbetween would be normal, but I have been getting all kinds of bledding lasting two and three weeks at a time. I stop for like a week then get bleeding again, it is so ridiculous when you have no idea if it is your period or not. I was on tri nessa before switching to this pill. Even though I got nausea from it, I had way less bleeding. When on tri nessa I had a period for 5 days, then didnt get a period till the next month around the same time, no bleeding inbetween what so ever. I think I should switch back. This is so ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!
