Lo Loestrin Fe 1-10 Missed White Pills
(Newest replies first)

Last month I took all the blue pills but I skipped the white and brown pills. I know the 2 brown pills are just iron pills but is it bad that I skipped the white ones too?

I have just gotten my new pack of Lo Loestrin Fe and in my old pack I still have the white and brown pills left. Is it safe to just skip those 4 pills and move on to a new pack?
I’m just curious how this turned out since you missed white and brown pills
So I accidentally started to open the wrong Lo Loestrin Fe pill (first white pill) on a day in week 1. I caught myself and told myself to be mindful that one of the pills was open from the pack. Fast forward to a couple weeks (but my last week of the pack), my boyfriend and I had intercourse so it was very important that i took the pill the next morning. I come home later that day and see that the pill was actually on the floor! But I remember taking a pill in the morning. So I feel as if I either switched the last blue with the first white, or I’m missing the first white altogether. What should I do?
I accidentally missed a Lo Loestrin Fe pill on a Friday due to being busy at work. I took a pill the next evening (Saturday) not realizing that I missed a pill. I had intercourse that same night with my significant other, but I took the pill beforehand. Sunday evening I take my pill and realize my mistake and took a second pill that was missed. I've taken the pills the past 7 months without missing a pill. This would be my 8th pack and still on the first week. I plan on taking Plan B to prevent a possible pregnancy, but I wanted to make sure if in any way I was still protected and what are the chances of becoming pregnant?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I think I need to buy plan B, and I'm planning on buying it tomorrow but thought I should get some opinions. I'm on Lo Loestrin Fe, which is low dose. I have blue pills with 2 white pills (only estrogen) and 2 placebos at the end. I don't get a period on this pill, which my gyno says is normal due to the low dose and short placebo period.
Basically, I missed 2 pills in a row and didn't realize it. Yesterday morning I realized I had missed, and I guess I had absentmindedly looked at the pack, didn't see the white pill and thought I was on the placebos, and decided to skip the placebos and start a new pack. So, I took a blue pill. This morning, I realized I had missed last night's (2nd blue pill in the pack), and took it first thing. I also had unprotected intercourse using the pull out method during this, I had NOT realized I had missed two pills. I started spotting today, which was concerning because like I said, I never really bleed on the pill. Usually if I miss a pill, I may see spotting which I assume due to the hormone imbalance. I think that's why I'm spotting now but I'm still a bit worried.
So, I was just wondering what my risk should be. I missed a white pill which is only estrogen and accidentally replaced it with a blue one, which is progestin and estrogen, and then missed a blue pill. Should I take the morning after pill, and if so what is my risk of being pregnant? Thanks to anyone who offers advice.
I think I missed one white pill and have one brown pill left to take in lo loestrin fe 1-10. I am not sure but the days are off and I am away and usually start a new pack of pills on Sunday. However, there is one brown pill left. Am I ok? Is it ok to start the new pack on Sunday? Any risks?
Re: Hannah (# 4)
Hi, I did the same thing. Has anything happened? I missed the last blue pill and took the blue and white together on the same day and my period never came. Did yours?
I've been taking Lo Loestrin Fe for about 7 months now. I take every pill on time down to 5 minutes basically everyday. However, yesterday I took my white pill a little over 2 hours late. Am I at any risk for pregnancy if I have intercourse within the week?
First time using birth control. Been on it for 4 months. Im seeing my bf for valentines day but thats when my period is scheduled. How do i skip my period or get it earlier? Help! Do i skip all 4 pills? Can i take them this week and then continue the blue pills? Help!
What if you miss the blue pill right before a white pill? I took it and the white pill as soon as I remembered
The white pills have *estrogen* in them. What they are missing is the progestin. Without progestin, your body starts having a period. That's why it's two days with estrogen but no progestin, then two days with just iron pills (no hormones). It's kind of "tri-phasic" because you have 21 pills with both estrogen and progestin, then two with just estrogen, and two without either. It's so you only lose the estrogen part for two days instead of four. If you are used to the three week packs, you truly can skip both the white and the brown pills, and just go on to the blue pills of the next pack-- but you won't have any period at all because of that, so you won't be able to have that handy check for pregnancy. Personally, I prefer to use the white and brown pills, it keeps me from running out of pills in a prescription too soon.
The other response is wrong! I just started this pill and was confused myself. The patient insert does indicate that the white pills have estrogen! I didn't take them either! But will from now on! I wish my doctor had told me...I'm so used to the white pills being inactive!
Hello, Kate! How are you?
No, the white ones have no active ingredients in them, whatsoever, so it doesn't matter if you skip them.
Is there anything else I can help with?
