Lo Loestrin Fe 1 10 Cycle Disrupted

When will I start my period? I am 43. Started Lo Loestrin FE 1-10 on the first day of my cycle and felt terrible and bled non stop for 15 days. On that 15th day which was my 15th pill, I stopped taking it. Bled for four more days. When will I now get my actual period? On seven days when I SHOULD have gotten it or now not for at least three more weeks?

Hello, Gina! How are you? Sorry about the problems that you had with this contraceptive.

It's difficult to say when you'll get it now, since these are hormonal based. Basically, you disrupted your natural hormones by adding them and then did an abrupt withdrawal, so now your body has to balance back out on its own. Thus, you may get it in accordance with your normal, pre-pill cycle, or you may get it later.

Have you consulted your doctor?

There should be a different one that you can try that may not cause you these same types of issues.

Yes, my doctor instructed me to go off of it since I was having issues with bleeding and a nagging headache. So my bleeding stopped 2-3 days after I took that last pill, mid pack. Dead stopped. Now, it is seven days later and I am spotting ever so slightly. Is this ovulation or withdrawal or what and how long will it last? I do sometimes spot during ovulation.
