There are actually a few different categories, such as blood thinners and ones that inhibit clotting, so I can't really list them all here. They work in different ways, but basically can achieve the same purposes.

It is much easier and informative if I just put in a link to give you more anticoagulant details here.

There is a ton of information there, such as the types, how many are available and the possible risks, such as hemorrhaging, plus there are reference and external links that you can look at to learn even more.
