I notice when I was taking this meds, it gave me up and down mood swings. It made me think way too much of the small things. I was to the point that every small thing is the worse thing on earth. I notice when stopped taking it my whole world has gotten better. I am 38 yrs old and was diagnosed with high blood pressure because it was at 160/110 which was checked at the VA hospital in Long Beach. My primary doctor felt it was time for me to get off them because I went to her clinic without taking it. She felt it was time for me to get off it. I agreed because it gives me feelings I never want to experience again.

Many medications cause mood changes, depression, and irritability, as side effects, according to NIH reports.
It can sometimes be a matter of trial and error to find one that works for you, without causing problems.
Did your doctor prescribe any alternative for you? There are many others you can try to treat high blood pressure.
