Lisinopril Hydrochlorothiazide By Aurobindo

My renewed generic prescription Lisinopril/hydrochlorothiazide 10-12.5 is now coming from a different manufacturer (pharmacist verified) than my original (pinkish pill) from Aurobindo. The new blue pill, manufactured by Westward, is not the same in effects. Does anyone know what pharmacies (Target and Walmart don't carry it) carry the same medication but manufactured by Aurobindo? Thank you

Maybe my question should be when generic prescriptions switch manufacturers, are the ingredients EXACTLY the same? If so, why is a medication I have taken successfully for 4 years with no side effects suddenly begin to make me ffell lethargic and starting hair loss within 3 weeks of starting the same "everything" but from a different manufacturer? Has anyone else experienced that maybe, just maybe, all generics are not alike?

There can be differences in generic medications. Under federal law, they are allowed to differ from the name brand, in the amount of the active ingredients, by as much as plus or minus 20%.

Many companies keep the differences much tighter, so there isn't such a large fluctuation, but when your body is used to a certain dosage, you may be sensitive to any slight fluctuation. SInce you are suffering more side effects, my guess would be that this one probably contains a little more of the ingredients than you are used to taking.

Unfortunately, there is also no way to know which pharmacy will carry the generic from any manufacturer, at any given time. There is always the possibility that it will vary, depending on who was offering the cheapest price, when they had to restock their supply. The only thing you can really do is call around and ask, or see if your pharmacy can order the other one in for you.

Target pharmacies were just purchased by CVS and they dispense Aurobindo Metformin and I am thinking they may also dispense other Aurobindo drugs.

The fillers they use can be the difference as well. The FDA doesn't care and big pharma doesn't care. We are on our own and calling around takes hours and days to find a pharmacy that is willing to order the drug that works for you, but it is worth it when you find that one.

Get off lisinopril. I took it. My doctor called me at work and told me to stop as it was knocking my white blood cells out. Hope your doctor does blood work.

Same thing happened to me. My doctor did call me at work and said that it was taking my white blood cells and that I would not have an immune (autoimmune) system, I believe they call it.
