Lisinopril Change Sent Me To Er! (Top voted first)
UpdatedI'm calling the FDA on Lupin Pharmaceuticals. I have been on lisinopril for many years. Once I started with the newer version that they put out in May, I have had awful symptoms of my blood pressure being out of control. I just started on their newer version a week or so ago. On Saturday, September 23, 2017, I was rushed to the ER with blood pressure 201/103. Since this incident, I have been monitoring my pressure more and it's been jumping around from 123/88 to 179/90 at random times. I am exercising-elliptical 30 minutes per day, drinking water and without abnormal stress. My blood pressure has been undependable since this company changed their pills. I therefore pray that these new pills do not cause harm to anyone. After reading on here that other people were having similar issues with the lisinopril from the manufactor Lupin, I spoke to the pharmacist who gave me the name of two other manufactures of lisinopril and then called my doctor to ask if I could please get a new prescription from these manufactures: Teva or Mylan. I hope this change will be the answer. If so, I will also call the FDA to alert the potential dangers of this drug that was recently changed in May 2017 made by Lupin. Whatever change they made-even if it were just taking out fillers-something is wrong.

If you are having problems with the new smaller Lisinopril by Lupin Pharmaceuticals, their number is +1 (410) 576-2000.
The company explained that some people may experience issues but the majority does not. I forgot that I had stomach surgery. The pharmacist told me that because of my stomach surgery the fillers they removed from the pill may have affected my absorption rate
April having the same issue just curious if you have had better response when you changed manufacturers?
Re: gclond (# 4)
Yes. My blood pressure has been more reliable since getting the drug from the other manufactor AND making some diet and exercise changes. I had stomach surgery years ago and my pharmacist thought maybe when the fillers were removed it changed my rate of absorption meaning my body may have absorbed the medication differently. At any rate, it frightened me enough for me to eliminate sugar and cut down on salt and move more so that helps too.
Your blood pressure will never hit certain levels and stay there, it will always fluctuate, it will always fluctuate depending on your activity levels, what you eat, and etc., according to FDA reports. Thus, I have to ask, what were you doing, just before you've checked it?
The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.
Taking in a lot of fluid, such as water, can also cause your blood pressure to be elevated.
