Lisinopril By Lupin/actavis - Is It The Same?

I've been taking lisinopril, lupin 20 mg. for a number of years My last rx was refilled recently and the pharmacy substituted it with actavis 20 mg. With the lupin, my b.p. readings were always good. With the actavis my b.p.is elavated. I have also experienced a terrible rash and intermittent hives. Could the change in meds have caused this? Yesterday I was prescribed verapamil. (haven't started to take it yet). The pharmacy has filled the prescription with verapamil-ER 120 mg MYLAN. I have severe chemical allergies (paraphenadiamine, Balsam of Peru, methylcloroisothiolizone, quinoline mix and wool alchohols). My outbreak may not have anything to do with the med change, but I thought I should investigate all avenues.

Actavis is the manufacture and I don't take lisinopril but I do take norco which is a pain med and the generic is hydro and the manufacture is Actavis and they are horrible they don't work there has been alot of people complaining about this company they bought out Watson ask your pharmacist if he can get them from another company

How much has your BP changed, since taking the new one that has been provided for you? Why haven't you started the other medication, yet?

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

Karen, unfortunately, most pharmacists don't have a choice, when they need to restock their supply, they order the given medication, and are stuck with the cheapest one that their distributor has listed.
