Lisinopril---norvasc (Page 3)
UpdatedI am concerned about taking both prescriptions, as I am tired all the time. I tell my Dr., but he says if it keeps the pressure down keep taking them. Just wondered if I am the only one out there feeling this way.
Take your meds at night
I have been taking lisinopril for about 10 years, I'm guessing. A couple of years ago it was switched to lisinopril hctz. Probably about 10 mgs per tab. When I started taking it I could walk easily and didn't have headaches and wasn't tired at all. The only side affect I noticed was a slight, dry cough. couple of years ago I had my thyroid and half of my right parathyroid removed. I went into an emotional tailspin immediately after that operation. I was panic ridden, paranoid, and claustrophobic. Couldn't get into a car with the windows closed or take a shower with the shower curtain closed all the way. And forget going to the movies in a theater with other people. That was panic city in the extreme. Now I've been taking an increased dosage from the one I started out with and I am so lame and off balance when I walk that it;s dangerous to go anywhere without a companion. My feet hurt. My knees hurt, my back and hips are a source of ongoing pain, I never know when I stand up if I'll fall over or not. This is not fun. I am 73 and I have work to do. I have to make a living. I do not smoke or drink coffee or anything else that could be dangerous I have an almost perfect diet. Tons of fresh veggies and a small amount of fruit fresh fish or chicken, natural whole grains most of it almost gluten free. I take vitamins and am very well educated when it comes to nutrition. I was told recently by a physical therapist that statins can make a body feel weak and stiff and painful. I used to be a dancer, swimmer, and an athlete. This sucks. Do I have to keep taking this damned medicine? I hate feeling like this. I have so much energy I almost can't sleep at night. The only thing that makes me slow down is that my back hurts so much that I have to sit down to give it a rest. And then I'm up like a shot and ready to do battle again. I never get sick. I look ten years younger than my years, except for this damned back, leg and foot problem. I hate this!
I take 10 mg of Norvasc and 80 mg of Lisinoprol and although my BP is down where it should be-145/80, I suffer from almost all the negative side effects. I am tired all the time and I am glad I do not have to work. I have trouble sleeping and yet have no energy. Also having trouble swallowing and have dry mouth which means I am feeling like I am choking all the time. The stuff is bad but in my case the combination was the only thing that kept my BP below 200/95 to 165/90.
I have been on lisinopril norvasc combo for four months. In the last two started having dizzy spells, blackouts, itching, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, headaches, disorientation, should I go on? Hospitalized two weeks ago. Still very ill, and I just had to figure it out on my own. Oh and coughed up blood last week... and its not T B. Oh yeah the dumb docs. Didnt think of that test, I had to tell them. Get off these meds for real! Oh but my blood pressures fine, by the way, lol
I feel the same can't stay up past 8. Tired, dizzy and heart racing do you have these sxt too
I'm taking 40ml of Lisinopril and 5 of Norvasc for the last two months. I have gained alot of weight fast, feel puffy all the time and have really dark urine and get dizzy when I look down and then up. Doctor says it will get better..God, I hope so...I want to get off both and start on something new but doctor seems reluctant. Will I feel better, eventually??
I have the same things going on with me. Been taking the drugs since 4/12/2013 and I have decided to stop taking it.
I had a virus (possibly flu) and felt horrible about 6 weeks ago. Went to the clinic, Doc also discovered that I had high BP and put me on Lisinopril 10mg. I was sick, TIRED and dizzy from the virus and from water in my inner ears so I didn't notice any of the side effects Lisinopril may have had. But after that all cleared up (about two weeks) I was stuck in DEAD TIRED mode. I can't exaggerate how tired and scared I was. I slept a lot, trying to recover. Then I researched Lisinopril side effects. Sure enough, FATIGUE is a side effect. I don't have insurance so I decided to wean back from Lisinopril 1mg/week until I felt better. I used a pair of nail clipers and just clipped the 10mg pill a bit, taking about 10% off (1mg). After 3 days, I feel better. Not 'great', but I am not as TIRED all the time. I'll finish out the week and see if I should snip another 1mg off. But I won't do that until I have a BP cuff so I can stay focused on my BP. Sorry, I don't have actual BP#s to report. But I can say, I believe 10mg of Lisinopril may be too much for me. I'm not sure until I can see BP numbers. I am afraid to play with my dosage too much without being able to keep an eye on "the silent killer". Feeling good is NOT necessarily a sign that you are healthy. That's why they call HBP the "SILENT KILLER". Don't trust good feelings - but be aware of bad ones.
I am taking 20 mg of Lisinopril at night and I am so tired every day all I do is sleep. I have been taken this for some time but then all of a sudden for the past 4 months all I do is sleep. totally exhausted no energy at all. I was taken Metoprolol 50 mg each night but my pulse all of a sudden dropped into the 50's so they took me of from that now my pulse is around 90 to 130. but still real tired. anyone have any clue what to do.
Yes my legs were killing me and gaining weight from both of these meds . I changed my diet and my pressure is 128/85. Watch sodium intake and you will lose weight from getting off these meds !
get ready the system has lowered the numbers on the B.P. Again.they want it at 120 or less.
I have been on lisinopriol for a month or so and Analopitine for years. since ive been on the lisinopriol i have been tired and week.My brother was on it and it messed his stomach up and took a year to straighten it out.
Now we have to take charge of our own health.
it is hard to see a doctor you just get to see a nurse practitioner!
