Lisinopril/hctz 20-25mg With Losartan

My Dr. took me off lisinopril-hctz because of headaches and body weakness. I felt better with the losartan 50mg but my blood pressure shot up to 200/100. Would the losartan work in a combo with lisinopril-hctz; possibly taking the losartan in the evening?

Do not mix meds. Pharmacist told me that. I was taken off Lisinopril and switched to Losartan 50 mg a day. Blood pressure does not stay regular. I get dizzy. I hate bp meds. I hope we get this straightened out. Losartan seems to be better so far but I am scared that my BP will not get better. Just do not mix medications. Call your doctor and he can adjust. Good luck.

Juan again on the conversation lisinapril-hctz and losartan,I suffer from chronic pain that can attack me at anytime,but I noted that when i changed from lisinapril-hctz to losartan my pain deminized and i felt much better so I'm going to see if it's possible to take the lisinapril-hctz during the morning and maybe a low dose of losartan in the evening,must see what the Doctor says,if it helps me with the chronic pain I've been in for years,it's worth trying,see what Doctor says.

Well, first of all, when you stop a medication like this, it can cause rebound elevations in your blood pressure and heart rate, that's why the FDA warns people not to stop them abruptly, without their doctor's approval and monitoring.

There is also a change that the dosage of the Losartan is too low to control your blood pressure, or it just might not be the right medication to help you.

How long have you been taking it, now? It usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks for it to reach its full level of efficacy in your body.

This is why i asked my Doctor to change my med from lisinapril-hctz to losartan because whenever i would exert energy and it didn't have to be strenuous my pulse would shoot up to an unhealthy 115.
