Limbrel - Does It Work

I have just learned that Limbrel exists. I had been on NSAIDS for years, first a combo of Ibuprofen & Salsalate, then moved from that to Celebrex. Three years ago my kidneys started to fail. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 kidney failure. I was pulled off ALL NSAIDS FOREVER. Needless to say, I was devastated. Yes, I was upset about the kidney failure, but I was MORE upset about the fact I could not take anything for relief of my severe osteoarthritis. My rheumatologist did put me on Plaquenil,, which helps some, but still doesn't address the inflammation. I am on pain meds too, for other reasons, but again, they don't even touch the pain from inflammation. I learned earlier this week, from a Dr. I was sent to for another issue, of the existence of Limbrel. My rheumatologist has agreed to prescribe it for me, but warned insurance probably would not pay. Well, that's an understatement. She is going to do a letter of medical necessity, but my pharmacist isn't very hopeful. I've found the coupon & plan to use it if I can't press my insurance company to pay.

What I would like to know - is it worth the price? Its $50 for a month's supply, with the coupon. Without the coupon its $141 at my pharmacy. I'm on a fixed income & if it works, I'd choose to pay for it instead of buying food, but I don't want to waste money. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, Jencat824! How are you? I'm sorry about everything you've been through.

I've never taken it myself, but many people have found it to help a lot with alleviating their symptoms.

As listed by the FDA, its side effects are also usually minimal and may include nausea, diarrhea and gas.

Can anyone that's taken this chime in?
