Light Period On Tri Sprintec

I am finishing my 3rd pack of Tri Sprintec and I notice today, when I should be on my period, I am having light bleeding. Before I was on Sprintec my period started on the 4th white pill in the morning. Since I began Tri Sprintec it starts in the afternoon. I am only bleeding lightly today. Could I be pregnant or is my body still adjusting to the new pills? I haven't missed a pill at all.

Hi ayla,

From what I could gather, irregular bleeding and/or menstrual periods (relative to the time frame that you're used to experiencing such symptoms) are reported to be general side effects of Norgestimate + Ethinyl Estradiol - the two key components in Tri Sprintec. So if you haven't missed any pills at all, my opinion is that you probably don't need to be too concerned about the possibility of becoming pregnant since the odds are so slim. However, for someone being intimately active, it sounds to me like it may still be a good idea to keep a pregnancy test kit on hand for the unexpected.
