As I read I just don't know if I should come off 60 mg in the am and 30 in PM. Back surgery conic pain for years now and the MS works. But, is it why I am depressed? I approached my DR about coming off, not much encouragement. Anyway I am 2 days at 60 mg. What's worse pain or the medication.

Yes, narcotics are actually depressants, so it could be causing or contributing to your depression.
However, rather than stopping medication entirely, it might be better for you to just try a different one to see if something else doesn't cause as much depression.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Have you tried any others?
