wat are d side effects of thyronorm ## Thyronorm is a brand of Levothyroxine sodium that is used to treat hypothyroidism. Dosing must be carefully controlled to achieve TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) levels within the normal reference range. Long-term suppression of TSH values below normal values will frequently cause cardiac side-effects and contribute to decreases in bone mineral density (high TSH levels are also well known to contribute to osteoporosis). Patients prescribed too high a dose of levothyroxine may experience effects that mimic hyperthyroidism. Overdose can result in heart palpitations, abdominal pain, nausea, anxiousness, confusion, agitation, insomnia, weight loss, and increased appetite. Allergic reactions to the drug are characterized by symptoms such as difficulty...

Hi, I am 26 and my tsh level is 41.5, I am having 64kgs of weight, due to hypothyroidism. I am prescribed with 100 mcg of thyronorm. Please clarify me, if this 100 mcg will help me to reduce weight or not. ## Hi, Sukh! Sorry about the health problem. No, you may not lose weight, it's very rare for that to happen while on this medication. Most people that take it do still have a weight issue, though it doesn't usually cause gain. Learn more Thyronorm details here. Have you discussed it with your doctor? They may have other ideas that could help. ## Im 27 years old nd my weight is 75 nd 5.5 height. I've taken this medication on and off for years. New endo- thought we should try again, despite my very educated disapproval. Switched from armour to levo-112mcg and cytomel (t3) -5mcg. I almost forgot what it felt like to be so ill. It's only been a week, but it's been horrific. Heartburn, cramps, nausea, painful bloating, night sweats (let me rephrase, more like night swimming.) And yes, more acne. At almost 40, I look like a 15 yr. old pubescent boy. Charming. This is morning sicknesses and intestinal flu all wrapped up in a pretty pink pill. So for those of you that are new to this, its a long haul, and there are other meds out there. Be persistent, if after two months symptoms do no subside-look further. Some of us just can not tolerate this sorry excuse of a medication...

These pills were prescribed for my wife. It says Levothyroxine 50mcg on the bottle label. It has sodium as well. We got it from walmart. ## The actual name of the medication is Levothyroxine Sodium, that doesn't mean it actually contains any significant amount of sodium, that just designates the specific chemical salt that the medication is derived from, you may see some other medication generic names followed by Hydrochloride, or Sulfate. This medication is used to treat thyroid disorders. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, mood changes, and hair loss. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have had a partial thyroidectomy. Was started on levothyroxine 50 mcg. Now up to 150mcg. I had a mirena put in and periods stopped before my thyroid issues started and did not have a period. Swapped to brand synthroid and they started back after about 3 or 4 months. A year later I swapped back to levothyroxine and they stopped again. My tsh was elevated and my doctor recommended I go to brand necessary synthroid and 4 months later my periods have started back. ## That can be a normal side effect of the medication changes, and your original thyroid issue, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, mood swings, and hair loss. Are you on any other medications?

It's been 7 months I'm taking levothyroxine 50 mg for hypothyroidism, and my last TSH was 5.3 which had tested before two months. My problem is,my menstrual cycle is totally absent,if I don't take medicine for this. My doctor says,it'll be regular if TSH level bocome more low. But I'm so desperate for having baby and without regular cycle, pregnancy isn't possible,as doctor says. Can you assure me that,if TSH level become low then everything will be normal and how long will it take to be normal??

I hope someone can help! I am 53 years old and 5 feet tall and weigh 118 lbs. I never have had any symptoms . I went to my doctor 3 weeks ago and she tells me I have to go on medication for life! She did run blood work twice. I wish I knew my levels so could tell you but I don't. She started me on 50mcc a day of levothyroxin. The only symptom I am having right now is a little fuzzy memory. If I didn't have any symptoms do I really have to take meds for the rest of my life? I am a healthy eater and exercise on a regular basis and happy with my life. Can someone help. I don't take any meds besides supplements. ## Hi Becky, I’m not going to tell you to ignore your doctor’s advice, but I’m really glad my dad did when they told him he only had 6 months to live d...

I am having trouble controlling my blood sugars since starting levothyroxine 150 mcg 2 weeks ago after having my thyroid removed, I am on diabetes medication and have been for years and it has been under control and now I am getting crazy highs and lows. I've just been prescribed Levothyroxine 75mcg. I've been reading all the horrible reviews and am afraid to take it. I didn't have any symptoms of hypothyroidism except being overweight. I went to the dr for something totally different. I was overdue for routine blood work. Came back as this: TSH was 75.320, T4 free below normal 0.49, antibody 2250, T3 normal. I'm getting a biopsy on a nodule on Monday. Dr wants me to start on 75mcg Levothyroxine. I went the internet and have read horror stories. I don't have any symptoms of hashimotos thyroiditis (my diagnosis). In fact my symptoms mimic hyper insomnia, caffeine sensitive. I work 3rd shift. I've read the best time to take it is at night before bed. My pharmacist says in AM 30min before other meds. Neither of thes...

I am a 36 yr old female. Diagnosed with hypothyroidism with very high antibody titre. Initially prescribed with levothyroxine 50mcg, weight gain of 6 lbs per year. Had to change endocrinologist, new prescription for thyronorm 75mcg. Current weight gain is 4 kgs per month, after taking thyronorm 75 for 30 days. Also, thyronorm intake resulted in joint pain, which was not experienced during levothyroxine intake. Should I revert back to levothyroxine 50 or continue thyronorm 75? ## They are both the same medication, Levothyroxine, the Thyronorm is just a brand name for it, so the only difference is in the dosage. You are taking a higher amount of it now, which could explain the joint pain side effect. Learn more Thyronorm details here. Have you talked to your new doctor about the joint pai...

I just received my labs, I'm 5'7" 150lbs, black male. My TSH 17.17 and my T4 1.08, I am currently on 100mcg, and my doctor increased me to 125mcg of levothyroxine. Does this seem normal, I was on 200mcg my entire high school and middle school life. Now I'm 23 and this new doctor doesn't seem to think I'll need that much, but I'm trying to join the navy and you can't unless your hypo and it's controlled on meds. ## Also, I've been hypo since I was 10yrs old. Got hashimotos and it did work on my thyroid, currently zero thyroid function and has been like this for over a decade now. ## Hello, Nappyclouds! How are you doing? If you really fear that this doctor may not be properly handling your condition, then the best thing to do would be to see a diff...

Today my doctor changed my Medication. The doctor informed me my level is still low even on 100mg, but too high on 125mg so he advised me to take 100mg one day and 125mg the next and continue like this for the next 3 months. Trying to fall pregnant but it's not happing due to this reason. So fingers crossed in 3 months my levels will be back to normal. ## Yes, it is sometimes prescribed that way, if someone is having trouble hitting normal levels, and getting it under control is vital to your being able to conceive. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, hair loss, mood swings, and weight changes. How long have you been taking this new dosage regimen?
