I was diagnosed with under active thyroid last November and have had my dose of levothyroxine increased in 25 mcg increments over the last 8 months. I have been on 100mcg now for approx 2 - 3 months. I am no longer falling asleep at 8pm every night, and my hair, skin etc is much better, but I now have really bad insomnia. I can't get to sleep till the early hours of the morning, and am also suffering from heart palpatations, restlessness and generally have an inability to relax. Help!!! ## The symptoms you are describing are actually warned about in the drug monograph, it could indicate that you are on too high of a dosage. Have you spoken to your doctor about this? You can read more on the medication here: And this link goes directly to the warnings:

I have been taking .150mcg of Levothyroxine for a few months now (been on several different dosages throughout the years) and when I went to have my levels retested this past Wed, the Dr told me that my levels were elevated so she was going to adjust my dose and call it in to my pharmacy. When I went to pick it up it was .175mcg...the pharmacist told me they upped my dose per day. This makes no sense to me. If my levels are elevated wouldn't they lower my dose? Could someone explain why this may be? Also, I am 6 months pregnant. Thank you! ## That does seem unusual, since this is usually used to treat low-levels of this hormone. Have you tried consulting with your doctor? There amy have been a misunderstanding between her and the pharmacy. Side effects to this medication may include...

I started taking this drug about 8 weeks ago. After 6 weeks my blood was checked and levels were still high so my doctor increased the dosage to 50 mcg's a day. I have had diarrhea for the entire time of taking the 50 mcgs of this drug. Emergency diarrhea. I told my doctor and she said to stop for one day then start back with 25 mcgs. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I be worried? It is somewhat embarrassing to have this because all I know is at least 5 times a day I will have explosive diarrhea. ## my level was on the low side of high but taking this medication has not been good for me and now I am on metformin for diabetes from my new doctor and she says that now my level is one is high and one is low so I have to have more blood tests but she thinks I should come off of t...

The pill is yellow one side has the letters JSP the other side is scored with the numbers 5 and 6. They were sent to me by mail order and are supposed to be levothyroxine, but I am doubtful ## Based on your description I have not found an exact match. I have, however seen something extremely similar to what you're describing. It is a round yellow pill with JSP on one side and 516 on the other side. This just happens to be Levothyroxine 0.1 mg. Do you think it is possible that the score mark which you reported is actually supposed to be the number 1 ? Please let me know if you have any other details...
