i am on Levothyroxin 175 mcg. i had seen somewhere on the internet that this pill will deplete calcium from my bones but i can't seem to find the info any more. i want to print this out and take this to my Doctor. ## I'm not finding anything about this, either. Although what I have found states that calcium can affect the absorption of Levothyroxine, so it should not be taken within several hours of taking the medication. What has your doctor said about it?

Does 1mcg of Levothyroxine make a difference? 36mcg makes my TSH=1.30 and 38mcg makes my TSH=0.9 both TSH levels look acceptable but I can't feel really well. Before I started on Levo my TSH was 4.0 Thank YouMale/40yo ## You level of 4. was still within "normal" range...I would have your level rechecked after 6 weeks or find an endro doc....Something isn't correct here.... ## Before anything, Thank you for your answer. My endo is treating me according to new normal range of 0.3 to 3.0. He es trying to get my TSH closer to 1.0. My TSH has been around 1.0 for the last month, but my question is when you are trying to find your precise dosage, does 1mcg of levothyroxine make a difference?? Thanks again ## Yes, 1mcg can make a difference, that's why this medication is ava...

I have taken this medication for about eight weeks and have experienced some changes. First, hair loss and since I have nice hair, this is a worry. I have very little appetite and I was thin to begin with. I am 82 and wonder if these changes will persist. Also, I don't sleep well, but that is often true of aging. I would appreciate answers. I am going back for another blood test to see where my thyroid count is now. ## Go to tpa-uk.org.uk/ this is an excellent web sight and has many answers. There is always someone there to support you. Hope you get well. ## As to the hair loss, yes, it most likely will persist. It is generally an ongoing issue, when taking this medication. However, you should speak to your doctor regarding the appetite and sleep issues, because while they can also ...

M on one side, other side scored in the middle with a 7 on each side of the score. The 7s face opposite directions (one looks upside down). ## Hi Sara, Based on the description provided, I can confirm your green oblong pill to be Levothyroxine sodium (88 mcg). NOTE: One of those 7's is actually the letter "L" which is why it appears to be upside down on one side. So the actual marking reads M L 7 (with a score mark in between the L and 7 on one side) This medicine is a hormone replacement usually given to patients with thyroid problems, specifically, hypothyroidism. For more information about this drug, please refer to the link below... If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you.

I found it in my daughters room and am concerned about what it is. ## found a pill stamped JSP on one side and 513 on the other. the pill is lith rose. I found it in my wife close and i am concerned about what it is. ## It is a 25mcg levothyroxine pill for thyroid disorders such as Hypothyroidism. ## That is correct on the pink pill with the JSP 513 marking, it does contain .025mcgs of Levothyroxine, sold under the brand name LevoTabs. Brennan, I believe you were looking at the one side of the tablet upside down, the marking is actually JSP 561 and it also contains Levothyroxine, in an 88mcg dosage. Is there anything else I can help with?

My Dr wonts to check my thyriod every 2 mo instead of 3 mo, will 2 mo get a good reading? The other Dr I had checked it every 3 mo...Thank You Linda ## My thyriod level has increased to 7.06 how should I control it? ## Linda, how often it's checked is really up to your doctor, some prefer to do it more frequently to get a better idea of where your levels are and more precisely adjust your medication, if needed. Nilima, what has your doctor advised? The usual medication used is a form of Levothyroxine, but it does require a doctor's prescription and regular monitoring of your thyroid hormone levels.

I absolutely HATE HATE HATE taking this pill in the morning and having to drink a full glass of water, and then waiting another hour before coffee or food. I understand that morning is the optimum time, but do any of you take it other times, like at bedtime? Any adverse affects? ## I have no experience with using this, but have you tried asking your doctor or pharmacist if changing the time of day that you take it will make a difference? They would be the best ones to ask about it. Everything I am reading says it should be taken a half hour to an hour, before you eat anything. Thus, I am not sure if there is a specific reason that it must be taken in the morning, there are some times when a doctor recommends this solely because they want a patient to get in the habit of taking it at the...

I've been taking Levothyroxine 150 mcg (hypothyroidism) for the past ten years. Up until a month and half ago my doctor increased my medication to 2 mg. I'm noticing a high volume of hair loss, does this ever stop? Will the hair loss issue, subside? Very concerned. ## Unfortunately, hair loss is a normal side effect of this medication and, while not everyone experiences it, it usually does not subside, most people do experience it as long as they continue to take the medication. It tends to be a more severe problem at higher dosages, so it may abate if your dosage is lowered in the future, but there is really no way to say with any certainty, since everyone is different. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? ## It does stop after awhile on it and your body adjusts to th...

im on 50mg of levotyroxine still feel like crap, still heavy, will it all change ## How long have you been taking it? Most medications require 4 to 6 weeks to reach their full effectiveness in the body and not all of them work for everyone that tries them, thus there is really no way to say whether or not this will change for you. You can usually tell, when you've hit this point, because that is also when any side effects you're experiencing will be most severe, such as nausea, drowsiness and dizziness, then they will start to taper off in severity. Have you consulted your doctor?
