I don't feel so confused anymore. Now I know all of you are going through the same thing. My doctor put me on 50mcg of Levothyroxine about a month ago and I have gain 8 pounds! I get short-breathed and winded REALLY easily when working out. I used to go to the gym for 2 hours, now I can't make it longer than 30 minutes. I wake up ALL the time with tingly fingers because my hands have fallen asleep. I have headaches, I feel 100 times more lazy than before...and it's supposed to help your energy, not drain it. I e-mailed my doctor today, this is not making me happy. Not to mention I now have an acne type rash that burns like hell on my chin and I've always had clear skin. If this drug is supposed to make you feel better it sure as sh*t isn't working for me. I feel like a fat lazy a$$ with an itchhy burning rash on my face... stay away from this drug, that's my suggestion. :(

I have posted this before but I will say it again. Get off this toxic junk and get onto an NDT, I am on Armour Thyroid and it was like going from night to day. 1 grain of Armour gives you 60mcg of T4, and 1/2 grain, 30mcg etc etc. So if you were on 100 mcg Levo (a widely used dose) you need to go on 1 1/2 grains of Armour. (which would be 90mcg so if you were marginally medicated at 100mcg, round it up to 1 3/4 grains. You will also get the very necessary T3, T2 and T1 if you are on an NDT and they will be in a reasonable ratio. I do not know why Levo is not pulled from the shelves, I feel very sorry for people on it.

Good for you! I take this too, 48 yr old male I havent had any issues but that doesnt mean it is healthy, nothing created by man in labs is normally good for us. Dont ever take flu shots or vaccines w mercury etc.

Synthroid and Levothyroxine are the same thing! Synthroid is a brand name for Levo. Google "Stop the thyroid Madness" and educate yourself about
Armour Thyroid and what it can do for you.

Hi,
If you stop taking Levo, can you tell what are the results and symptoms you have now?
My wife wants to stop taking Levo for her hypo, and wondering what to do.

She's been on 75 mcg for 2 years.

I am on it rite now it was 88 mill taking halfs down to 44 and going though hell. taking 44

Can a person just stop taking Levothyroxine? Is there a tapering process? I thought I read that to just stop taking this drug could cause death.

Went off levo last March now on armour no more weight gain or heart skipping beats. Can not believe the FDA allows this on market
Big pharma in the pockets of doctors insurance and yes FDA.

I just stopped taking Levo on Friday for all the reasons you mentioned. Working out and dieting and still not able to lose weight. I've gained easily 30 pounds in the last 3 years.

i have your signs and symptoms and didn't relate it to my thyroid med. My migraines, wt gain, hands numbness & tingling, esp. In AM have All increased. I have brain fog and depression. I am stopping my med ASAP! Like NOW!!! We are human guinea pigs for the medical killaship!!! Prayers for you and others!!!! Be in good health!

Was placed on same levo 50mcg last AIG by march gained 50 pounds hair started falling out worse was heart beat was skipping and stopping beats refused to take after 6 months Dr has me on armour now feel much better get off it it is poison

It would be a good idea if someone did the statistics on just what percentage of patients do have the debilitating side effects of Levothyroxine, but, of course, big pharma would squelch that project in it's infancy.
I personally think it should be pulled from the shelves, I have not met ONE person yet who feels reasonably normal on this drug. I even ask other people if they have friends with thyroid problems, are on Levothyroxine and do they have any complaints? The answers are a resounding YES and they describe them as completely debilitated.
Stop taking this poison and get on Armour Thyroid or any other NDT. ( Natural Desiccated Thyroid). Doctors must know this and yet it goes on and on for years - probably because doctors don't know enough about how to treat Thyroid problems.
But don't forget, Hillary Clinton's superbly educated doctor knew about it and Hillary did not get the toxic Levo, she got Armour!
