Levothyroxine 100 Mcg Tsh 5.6
UpdatedHello, my TSH is 5.68 and doctor prescribed Levothyroxine 100 mcg. Its been 5 days only since I started medicine. I don't have symptoms as of now as its just 5 days but I'm concerned about the dosage of medicine. Is it too high for TSH of 5.6? My free T4 was normal. Doctor has asked for another test after 6-8 weeks. Should I be concerned about my dosage or wait for another test to talk to my doctor?

Hi Anky,
I'm sure your doctor would've had your best interest in mind when he prescribed you a certain dosage based on his evaluation of your condition. So I wouldn't necessarily be overly concerned about it unless you're experiencing some undesirable side effects as a result of taking that dosage.
This is just my opinion, but it sounds like you should just wait it out until your next appointment to inform him of your concerns. These kinds of medications can sometimes take weeks before you notice benefits anyways and you'd likely need more time on it before knowing how it's going to effect you in the long run as it is.
I hope this helps! Does anyone else have advice from personal experience?
