Lentogesic Capsules Side Effects

I have been taking lentogesic caps for about 8 years now. 2 three times a day. Part of my rheumatoid arthritis treatment. With them been taken off the market what can i take and must I wean myself off them.

Lentogesic contained Dextropropoxyphene and Paracetamol, it is a mild narcotic analgesic and it was removed from the market due to the fact that Dextropoxyphene and its derivatives have been shown to be cardiotoxic.

And, as with any medication, even if you aren't abusing it, your body does get used to having it and a sudden cessation may cause withdrawal symptoms and rebound pain.

There are, however, other medications on the market that you can try, but only your doctor can help you decide which ones are safe for you.

Am a RA sufferer since age 18, am now 54. I take lentogesic as part of treatment. Nothing else works, except pethadine!!! What am supposed to do.

Tina, what else have you tried?

There are other combinations on the market that have narcotics, coupled with Acetaminophen, which may help.

Some of the options you can look into are Percocet and Vicodin:

Re speaking to doctors, they have given me other forms of drugs but seriously nothing works. fortunately I am still able to aquire lentogesic. am beginningto think I am now addicted to lentogesic, how do I wean myself off it.

Yes really nothing else works, can see with my husband as well, the tremesat that they said will help help nothing at all, he is at a point where he can't deal with the pain anymore and is also telling me that he is going to take his life. It is very scarce here by us in Port Elizabeth.
