Legal Suit Against The Makers Of Nasonex (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

In December I was diagnosed w/ cataracts in both eyes (I'm only 54). Two days ago I heard an ad on TV for Nasonex & it mentioned cataracts were a possible side effect. I used Nasonex for a few months a couple of years ago & I just bet it's the culprit behind my eye problems. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

I've been using Nasonex for years for sinus problems. Just recently, I've developed sores in my nose that scab and don't heal. I'm using a Neti pot now instead if using any prescription nose sprays. How long does it take these sores to heal, and do you need an antibiotic?

I to experienced sores in my nose abot a year ago. I did a little research and I figured out they were caused by staph, this bacteria is everywhere and anywhere u have broken down barrier in our sinn it can infect. It probably found its way onto the insertion tip of your nasonex. If you can get a hold on some bactroban or generic version ( mupirosin) apply three times daily to inner nosrils with a q-tip for a week or see your dr to get some. This worked so well for me that they healed and I've never gotton them since. Hope that helps good luck.

I'm with you Susan. I'm 54 and undergoing cataract surgery - they said I have an aggressive form of them. Also retinal issues and tears. Could this be Nasonex that I've been using for over 5 years! I just too saw the warning on TV about this side effect and never saw it before.

I am 43 years of age and I had no prior vision problems. I wore glasses only for driving at night (for distance). Recently I renewed my drivers license and did not pass the eye exam. Worried, I made an early annual optometrist visit and my optometrist was beside himself at how quickly I'd lost my vision on my right eye from one year to the next. I was referred to an opthamologist who was surprised that at 43 I would have a cataract, but he immediately knew to ask: "Have you ever taken steroids?" My reply was "Yes, Nasonex, Flonase and Prednisone, for nasal and skin allergies." There you have it! Some people have told me, "so you have cataract no big deal!"... Well although it is common for the elderly, on a person with a good twenty years of work ahead of them, like me, it is a damn BIG Deal! For a working person your vision is everything. Shame on the pharmaceutical companies who push these drugs and shame on the doctors who without hesitation prescribe them.

Three years ago had a bad cold with severe runny nose. I was prescribed Nasonex and used only 3 times. (I hate to use any medicine and don't take any pills for headaches or cold) Since then I lost my sense of smell completely. Now I am used to not been able to smell or taste anything but was really upset that using it 3 times ONLY my life changed tremendously. The pharmaceutical company should be suit for having this product in the market. Also, reading about the scabs I also have them since and it seems to kind of block the nasal septums, therefore I need to clean it constantly if I want to breath normally.
Unreal.

I just found out the same thing today! "Self-induced" what the doctor called from using a steriod (Nasanex). Same age 54, no family history!

Funny how we have the same story over and over again. I would have never taken Nasonex had I been warned there was a risk of blindness. The packets now still dont mention risk of blindness, just say risk Glaucoma: Eye Swelling. Diagnosed with Perenial Rhinitis (year round sneezing) about 35, perscribed Nasonex, by 38 I was diagnosed with Glaucoma and partially blind in one eye.

My son is 8 and his ENT prescribed him Nasonex for his allergies. He took it for a week at bed time. After reading this, risk do not out weigh the benefits. I stopped immediately.

I used Nasonex for nassal congestionm. I later developed high eye pressure and glaucoma in one eye. Laser treatment failed. Glacoma operation healing along with cateract removal. I am 85 so the cateract is not surprizing.
A class action lawsuit is appropriate, I feel.

I took nasonex for awhile, it stopped working for my allergies, so I took flonaise. Stoped that when I lost my sense of smell, and sense of taste is comprimised. No mention of that in side effect info. Is there a class action suit on these guys? I would like to join if there is.

Here are three DC attorneys who specialize in medical class action suits. Someone else please take on the cause from here! We are all damaged, and doctors continue to prescribe these sprays for mere colds and allergies.

My wife is 60 years old and other than wearing glasses (for about 50 years) never had a problem with her eyes. She was recently diagnosed with cataracts. Over the past year she used Nasonex. We don't know how to prove that Nasonex caused the cataracts but we have no other explanation.

This is infuriating! Nasonex has destroyed my life! The whole left side of my face is numb and headaches, which I NEVER have. They WILL pay! Sue them yourselves for as much money as possible. We are guinea pigs!!

I used Nasonex for a few years in my 40's for chronic sinusitis. First cataract surgury was at age 49 and the second at 50.

You are right, we're all just guinea pigs!

I'm 44 now and back between the years of 2002-2005 I was prescribed Nasonex for allergies. The only eye problem I ever had was that I was near sighted. Now here in 2012. I have to have bi-focals & 2 out of the 3 markers for glaucoma and damage to my optic nerve in my left eye. I've been told by my eye doctor that when I go out in sunlight I have to wear sunglasess now. I never ever had to do that before. I had no clue at all that Nasonex could cause glaucoma & other eye problems. There is no family history of glaucoma or cataracts and other eye problems in my family. When I heard what it could cause on the television ad a few days ago , I was shocked. I can't believe that I could lose my eyesight because of this drug.

What if you used Nasonex AND Flonase? Doesn't that defeat your case against either one?
