The is in a clear bottle with a red screw on cap. The liquid is yellow in color It has oil in it that separates and goes to the top when bottle sits. To use run the bottle under warm water and shake to mix. Applythe warm liquid tothe child's chest and under nose to relieve symptoms of croupe. Instead of placing a drop under the nose you can also place it on a pillowcase or sheet.

I believe that VetRx bought the rights to the product and rebranded it due to it no longer being considered safe for humans. Thus marketing it for animal use only.
I used save the baby with my son. It was fantastic. Fast forward we have a granddaughter. I looked for save the baby and came across a comment to look at VetRx. Amazing!!! This is the same company and same formula. Except it is in corn oil and original was lard based. I bought 2 bottles at tractor supply. She recovered so quickly. She had been sick for several months off and on. Now she is practically healthy. This is really just a blend of essential oils.
I need to find where to buy at least 3 or 4 bottles for my new great grand babies. I used it on my kids when they were growing up. It is great stuff. THANK YOU
I want to get this over the counter. How do I go about that and how much are they?
My mother used this when I was a child. I’m 76 years old and when my children were young I would use it. Haven’t seen it in years. Where could I buy it?

I have a bottle of Lee's Save the Baby. 1oz red cap, yellow liquid
Re: Leslie G (# 5)
I have a bottle thats mint in the box. The ingredients listed are alcohol 3.3% volume, Canada balsam, camphor oil, organum oil and rosemary. Good luck!
Re: Leslie G (# 5)
according to my bottle (which is an original that I bought in a drug store about 40 years ago) "Canada Balsam, Camphor oil, Origanum Oil, rosemary in a suitable lard base." It says to "always use good and warm." I heat the bottle in my microwave for 30 sec.
Re: KrazeeG (# 13)
I believe it contains Lard instead of petrolatum that you listed.
Re: Leslie G (# 5)
The jar I have stated on the label it was 5% camphor in an aromatic ointment base of white petroleum with oils of oregano, rosemary and candaian balsam.
Re: KrazeeG (# 14)
Omg my mom did the same thing & I would have hallucinations all nite long always wondered if it had something like a opiate in it cause would dream crazy things also but I would be all better in the morning lol
I took so much of this as a child! I constantly had croup and it was the only thing that worked! I gave it to my kids and grandkids. I continued to use it as an adult. I hate they don't have it in liquid form now. Mother used to put it over a spoon of sugar. I got so used to it that I didn't even mind the taste!
Can the original Save The Baby (Red Cap) still be bought any where ?
Re: Jeff (# 27)
Can I order save the baby rub? If so I need address in Vermont. Thal
It was manufactured by the family that owned the patent in Watervliet New York. They are long gone and in a modified form is available.
I would like to know if they still manufacturer it and where I can purchase the product?
Re: Verwon (# 1)
My grandfather always gave me a tiny capful of liquid Save the Baby when I had the croup, camphor and all! And I'm still alive! It would break up my cold/cough in 10 minutes flat! If I could still get the liquid in a bottle, I'd take it if I needed it. Sure beats taking codeine or those awful synthetic cough medications...they don't work anything as well as this did! Lee's, bring back the original formula, please. The FDA is approving lots worse things these days than camphor.
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Hi the Vermont Country Store has Lee’s Save the baby.
Re: Kay (# 22)
I do Not understand why people have to be followers on things they have not yet experienced. I swear by Lee's save the baby! It was by far the best remedy for colds flu and congestion. I took it as a child and im still alive. I wish the government would leave things alone. Medicine today always has a reaction, you need another.. It was not l8ke this year's ago... sad our world is out for the money and not real life.
Re: Roy (# 2)
Not the same. Same name But do not use it like we did the original. Causes serious issues. Use like a Vicks
