Laws Regarding Medications And Wether You Need To Give Them? (Top voted first)
UpdatedI am on 30mg morphine 2x daily and 4mg dilaudid 4xdaily. I am being treated for breast cacer and severe back problems. 4mg dilaudid is not working anymore, so i was going to talk to my pain dr about higher dose of dilaudid. I am a server in restaurant and on my days i do doubles i have the worst pain, the next day i am laid up in bed. My question is, i pick up my prescription on Monday but will see the dr on Thursday. If he changes it, do i give the meds i get monday back?

No absolutely not please hold on to your money until you actually see the doctor once a transaction is finalized at the pharmacy there are no refunds for any reason. These are the federally regulated laws in place for everyone's safety.
She may (or may not) have been referring to the doctor. Several years ago I had just this situation-I had just filled-a couple of days earlier-an RX for Vicodin. She switched me from a high-dose Vicodin to a low-dose Morphine Sulphate-but did *indeed require that I hand over the Vicodin RX. I thought it wasn't right, but also completely understood as there are many who would use it recreationally or sell it. I don't abuse my pain meds in any way, for the record. I need them. She counted the pills sling with me to make sure I had the number I should since I had just filled it-then destroyed them in front of me, I suppose thus proving that no one else there would have hold of them either. This post is a couple of months old already- so you have your answer- but thought I'd respond for anyone reading as I am today. (Stumbled on post looking for an answer-2 of my morphine Sulphate got wet when a partial bottle of water spilled on them. They are not time-release (ER) so should be fine, apparently, with perhaps only a small amount of the med lost when they puffed up.
Thank you for the site - it's been helpful.
