Lady Contraceptive Pills

Can I ask, is it safe if take a lady contraceptive pills 2 days after my menstruation and then be intimate with my partner? Is there no possibility that I would get pregnant? Thanks for the answer :)

No, if you start these tablets after you menstrual cycle has ended and then have sex, there is still a chance that you could get pregnant.

For immediate effectiveness of birth control pills, you need to start them, while you are on your period. If you do so, it will prevent ovulation and protect you against pregnancy.

However, if you start them at any other time of your cycle, then you need to be on them for at least a full week (7 days), before you will be protected from pregnancy.

Birth control tablets are not something that you can just take on the day you have sex and be protected from pregnancy, that is not how they work. You have to take them regularly, ever day.

If you haven't been taking them regularly, then you should use some other form of contraception, such as a condom, to improve your chances of preventing pregnancy.

i started taking the pills during the 1st day of my mens, but most of the time i forgot to take the meds and then i took 2 tabs each everytime i forgot, but then my problem is i have brown blood discharge i've been taking the pills 2 weeks now, and i'm not feeling well, what should i do? there is no sexual interaction yet w/ my hubby...

Mommy, if you were missing that many pills and then doubling up on them, the bleeding/discharge that you are experiencing is not unusual.

These are hormonal based contraceptives, so they can cause such things, especially when you miss tablets or take higher doses.

What you really need to do is set up a schedule where you take them at the same time every day. That way you get in the habit of it and don't forget.

You should do something to remind yourself that you need to take it, leave yourself note, or put a reminder in your cell phone.

You will not be protected from pregnancy, until you have taken a pill every day for 7 days in a row.

Have you consulted your doctor? If you really can't remember to take them, then it may not be the right option for you, but there are other forms of contraception that you can try. There are patches on the market that you apply and wear for a certain period of time, so you don't have to remember it everyday.

i took lady pills started from my 1st day of my monthly period,i only take the pills for 7 days then i stop taking the pills, after 3 days i had a dark brown discharged then lately it become my 2nd period for this month and it last for 4 days...is it normal?i wanted 2 get pregnant that's why i try 2 take the pills only for 1 week then i stop it...would that be possible for me to get pregnant?

I am a user of Lady Pill for so many years. Im out of the country. I used pill everytime na uuwi ako sa pinas. Kaya lng delayed ang period ko for this month. Kelan pedeng magtake ng pills to avoid getting pregnant kahit wala pang period. Or pede bang magtake ng pills then ihinto para dumatng yung period at magtake ulit ng new. Salamat po.

may posibilidad po ba na magkaroon ka ng problem or pagkadelay sa menstrual period mo once na first time lng gumamit ng lady pills tapos inistop din after taking 2 tablets? kasi nakakahilo saka nakakapanghina kapag tinitake ko yun kaya initingil ko na lang..magkakaroon din ba ng masamang epekto ang pagtigil ko sa pag-inom ko nun?

im taking lady pills and was suppose to be on my 8th tab yesterday but forgot and same day me and my husband have sex. i was able to take the 8th tab the this morning at 10am and the 9th this evening at 7pm.. my regular intake of this pill is between 7pm-9pm since at times i forgot to take it on time which is 7pm. is it possible to get pregnant with the situation i have? tomorrow's gonna be my 10th tab. please help!!

i take a lady pill on my first period then at # 25 i had menstruetion. last july 17, 2012 that,s my period and the last was july 20 but i'm bleeding again on the last day of july 31,2012..until august 9. that was 10 days,instead of # 25 it back again but # 15. i never sex for 1 month. is it normal?

Hi, it's my first time using birth control pills. I did not follow the instructions to start on your first day of period but i started using it 12 days before my period and everyday I take it, but timing is not consistent. sometimes I'm 2 hours late or a bit early (my schedule of taking it is 10:30 pm before sleeping but most of the time I forgot to take it on time) then my husband and I had unprotected sex on the 9th day of my pills and the next 4 days of our honeymoon. I still completed the whole 21 days with inconsistent timing of intakes like what I have said 2 hours or 3 hours late. After that pack I have no plans of taking another pack of pills. My question is i have pregnancy symptoms, do you think I am pregnant because of unprotected sex during those days? Please help, I need your advice.

Hello,

I'm very stressed right now. I just had unprotected sex with my bf and I don't want to get pregnant. I don't know how to use the Lady Contraceptive pills and such because this was our first time, and I recently discovered lady pills 2 days after we had sex. I drank 3 pills immediately then, then drank 4 again within the next 14 hrs, and once daily now. I read the contraceptive instructions that it will take effect 7 days after taking it, and that made me really stressed. Could it be possible that I'm pregnant? Plz I need your answers.
