Lack Of Vascularity

Hello,

I am 55 year old, postmenopausal women, taking the Megestrol (160 mg daily for 2 months already) to treat endometrial adenocarcinoma on early stage. My last ultrasound show "lack of vasculaarity in the more inferior portion - ?significance?. This finding is not seen on the previous images (in October, before Megace treatment). I couldn't get an answer why it happens and what is mean. If anybody know the answe I would really appreciate the information

Vascularity usually denotes having visible superficial veins, thus, a lack of it means that there is a section where these veins are not visible. According to the the NIH, it may, or may not be significant.

In other words, if it is due to the medication/medical treatments, it is nothing to worry about, in most cases....but if it is disease related, it could signify further complications.

Since this was only visible on the most recent sonogram, they likely did not feel it was anything to worry about and will wait to see if this issue continues, with further checks. In which case, it may be something that needs to be checked out further.

Are you on any other medications?
