Labored Breathing

Hi I was diagnosed with A FIB and just prescribed 80 mg twice daily of Sotalol in place of my HBP medication metoprolol. After the first dose I started feeling like I had to make myself breathe, and my heart continues to skip. It's too late to contact the doc and I am trying to avoid trip to ER. Will I be ok till morning? I'm hoping this wears off soon as I took it 4 hours ago. I think I was better on the Metoprolol..Help please

Those can be side effects of Sotalol, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, fainting, indigestion, sweating, and diarrhea.

What dosage were you taking of the Metoprolol?

It is possible that some of your symptoms are due to stopping it, and switching to the new medication.

Are you on any other medications?
