Klor-con M 20 Unable To Dissolve

I am having a hard time dissolving Klor Con M 20. Any suggestions would be appreciated

My Doctor changed my prescription for Potassium Chloride ER 10MEQ to Klor-Con M20 tablet.. I have Atria Fibriliation and and recently had a pacemaker installed. I am having difficulty dissolving the Klor-Kon M20 , have even tried using warm water. Nothing seems to dissolve them. Any suggestions?

I am a 66 yr old male who's had double by pass in 2011. I am taking Klor-con M20 ER Tab 20meo 1/2 tablet a day. I am out of them and my wife has a bottle of potassium gluconate 595mg ( over the counter ). Can I substitute with those or something else until I get my check on the 3rd. I suffer light headedness and occassionally, but rarely pass out due to dyehydration.

Marian, why are you trying to dissolve them? If you can't swallow them, you can be given an IV of it.

These are time released tablets and should be swallowed whole. The FDA warns that taking them differently could result in bad nausea, and stomach irritation. They should also be taken with a meal, or small snack.

Bob, not that is not an equivalent, you should take the one your doctor has prescribed.
