Klonopin Danger

I've been on klonopin for a little over 20 years now. 6mgs daily. Was able to taper down to 2-4 mgs while pregnant under ob/gyn care. Even on such a lower dose, bad things occurred. I was horrid. Assaulted my husband. Told a woman she was a bad mom cuz her kids were so unruly. Was aggressive and mean. Had brain zaps. Would forget normal words. When ordering pizza, when asked what toppings I wanted on it, I told them I wanted pizza on it. I've been on this med for so long, my dr will call it in with refills. While I was pregnant, I saw a high risk dr. He told me it would take years for me to get off of this if I was even able to for being on it for so long. Dr that first put me on this didn't talk about how addictive and dangerous it was. Was 18 and didn't think to really ask. After all this time, I didn't think I was addicted til I tried getting off it. Not at all proud of any of this. My child wasn't planned. I did the best I could to taper and she came out perfect. I will never be free of this drug. Started out taking .5 then all the way to 10mg at my highest dose. 10 year ago, my new dr put me on 6mg. If I don't have a certain amount in my system, I'm able to tell right away. I get mean and have brain zaps. The addiction snuck up on me. If anyone has any questions, ask away. Just be careful with this stuff.

If you aren't abusing it, it isn't an addiction, it's just your body being used to the medication, and according to FDA reports, it is normal to experience some withdrawal effects, but they are not as severe as stopping the high doses one experiences from trying to beat an addiction.

The FDA lists they as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, irritability, and insomnia.

Can anyone else chime in with their experiences?
