Klonopin Brand Name (Page 7)

I've been unable to find Klonopin (brand name) at any pharmacy. Although I've taken this medication for several years, this is the first time I've been unable to find it. I've been told the manufacturer (Roche) has it on backorder. Some say it's no longer available. I cannot take the generic as I get a serious migraine. Does anyone have any suggestions where I might get a Rx filled?

In response to an email I sent to the Federal Employees Insurance Operations division of OPM, received a phone call today to inform me that official inquiries to Genentech resulted in a statement that Klonopin is being shipped in all dosage levels. So, I feel confident that the drug is on its way.

I did what klon said he did and I talked to a rep at Genentech. He told me that they shipped everything this past Tuesday and the klonopin should be in pharmacies by the end of this week or the end of next week, depending on true pharmacies and who their distributors are. Yay!

I made sure to call my walgreens to let them know and they said they would have my klonopin script this coming Monday or Tuesday. I have a full script of Teva generic waiting at cvs that I will have to pick up only a couple to last me until the klonopin is in so that my insurance will pick up everything.

I hope evrryone gets their brand name soon!

HI Wow I got a call from geneteck and was asked a lot of questions. I was then transferred to another department and Guess what its being stocked and ready to ship in all states in 2 days ... The person from genetech told me to give my pharmacist the number to call them so I called Rite aid and they said have my med doc call them I was ticked.. I spoke to my med docs nurse and she said are you suicidal !!!!! I said no why would you ask that.. She then said she would tell my med doc and call me back. I never heard a word all day and I do not want to call the pharmacy again. they are mean and I have been with them for 15 years good ole NH

HI mark It is shipping as I posted before but it will not be avaiable in warehouses until sometime next wekk. Different answers all the time. I was told by my pharmacy that until its in wahre houses they wont even try to get it so sick of it

runningfox: are you saying Walgreens is now saying they can get it? Did they call the wholesaler or is their computer showing it available next Mon or Tues?

Well, being I just picked my script of teva up earlier this week I could still swap out if my pharmacy had the name brand. So, I stopped in at my pharmacy on my lunch break.

My pharmacy is not a big chain store but the same owner does own around 11 or so pharmacies under different names that all work together.

Anyhow, the pharmacists at these pharmacies are all pretty cool. They would do anything to help their customers.

Around 1 pm they looked at all of their wholesalers (distributors) and all of them came up "backordered". No time table. I told them I'd keep them posted and they will continue to order it for me everyday.

I hope Name brand Klonopin shows up soon at one of my pharmacies distributors.

Good job of keeping up the pressure on Roche/Gentech everyone

Usta, yes my Walgreens pharmacist said it would be available for me. I gave everyone there the scoop on what's going on with klonopin and how I called the manufacturer and they told me it shipped out Tuesday and should be available and IN pharmacies by the end of this week or next, depending on the pharmacy's wholesalers and distributors.

I don't know if my pharmacist called it saw it in the computer, but he said it would definitely be there for me by Monday or Tuesday and told me my best option was to pick up just the amount of Teva generic that I need until then, so that my insurance will still pick up the rest of the script for klonopin.

He gave me the lecture on how it's much more expensive that I've heard a million times.. I have an HSA and it covers EVERYTHING after my deductible is hit, and I hit it in March (narcolepsy meds are expensive!). I do not understand the warning I keep getting about the excessive cost of this drug because I asked what out of pocket is, and it was only around $200. Maybe that's shocker to some people but after having to pay out of pocket for my other drugs before hitting my deductible, that's such small potatoes and I know there are other drugs and other monthly life expenses that cost so much more than that! Especially when you want the brand of med that works the best...isnt it worth that price? Maybe that's why the $200 price tag doesn't shock me that much. If it were say, $500, then I would understand them warning me about it.

runningfox, its hard to tell anymore who's getting kickbacks from who. Your pharmacy might be getting a kickback of some kind from insurance companies to push generic drugs.

Drug companies and Insurance companies are big business. Wherever there's money there's greed. Where this is greed, there's kickbacks via lobbyists.

Roche has resumed distribution of all strengths of Klonopin Tablets on October 28, 2014. It's just a matter of time. Mine is waiting to be filled at the pharmacy. They are waiting on the order to arrive but no deliveries on the weekend. Suppose to be the first part of the week. I'll let you know.

So glad I initiated this line of conversation back in July as I would have had much more difficulty in coping had I not known there were others going through the same. Hope we all get brand Klonopin this week! Since my pharmacy gets their brand shipments on Tuesdays, hoping Klonopin is included.

Mark, I was just thinking about that as a possibility and came on the Internet to see what I could find about pharmacies getting kickbacks for generics because it is just so odd to me that they like to warn me about the cost of some drugs and not others.

I will update if and when I get it. I will be really annoyed if the pharmacist was just thinking he could get it based on what I told him, and it ends up he can't get it until December like the original tech told me earlier that week. Like, if their wholesalers have some sort of problem getting it or,something like that. The pharmacist seemed in a bad mood and this guy is usually really calm and caring. So now I'm a little nervous hearing that other people's pharmacies are saying they can't get it yet.

I do think you need to keep requesting it to be ordered at your pharmacy because otherwise, without a request for the drug, they may not order more or know that they CAN order more now.

Good update, sound4heaven.

Everyone who is looking to get brand name Klonopin filled needs to tell their pharmacist this info. They are probably just assuming klonopin is no longer available and won't a actually check with their wholesaler to see if it's there yet.

I think my pharmacy tech may have lied to me last week when she said she called their wholesaler and they told her no Klonopin until December..... Go to the pharmacy and tell them to call while you are standing there so you know they're actually doing it!

You're so welcome, Mark in Pa. I too find it helpful to know others share such discomfort as this issue has brought. CVS gets their brand drugs on Tuesday and I reminded them that I still have a prescription waiting to be filled. I hope everyone can get their meds tomorrow.

I called my rye aide pharmacy today and no they will not have it this week or next week. The pharmacist said they are shipping it but they
have no date at all as to when it will be in the pharmacy!!!! I then decided to call walgreens and cvs and they have no date either. Yes genotech says its available for shipping but are they? I decided to go to RtieAid wit genotechs number and they did call they heard the machine and said that does not mean it will be here it has not even hit the wharehouses yet and he tried to get 2 bottles from other parmacies and they said theycant get it either. so who is doing this? Genotech is not telling the truth at all. So if anyone gets any let me know I am livid

My walgreens pharmacist said he could have if for me by yesterday, and I told him I wouldn't be in town until Tuesday, so whichever day worked was fine. It's only 8:30 am on Tuesday but now I am nervous as i have not received any calls from walgreens saying that my prescription is ready. The pharmacy isn't open until 9:00, but still, the pharmacist said Monday so why wouldn't they fill it on Monday...?

Pegostress, did the person who called Genentech talk to a representative? I did, and I think a pharmacist would be able to get more info out of them then I could have. They must have some sort of records displaying where the shipments are and which warehouses have received their shipment already. If they really did ship out on Tuesday the 28th of last week, all warehouses should have gotten it by now and pharmacies should be receiving theirs as well. I know at walgreens they do overnight shipping if you need something they don't have at the pharmacy, so shipping from warehouse to pharmacies should be immediate for all of the klonopin orders that have been sitting waiting to be filled!!

I hope you are able to get your script soon. I will update if walgreens calls today saying my cript is ready or saying it is delayed again.

Got Brand name Klonopin today at Krogers. Thank the Lord.

One thing different is that the 0.5 mg is now made in Mexico. The package insert dated Dec. 2013 stated the 0.5 mg was made in Switzerland, and the 1 and 2 mg were made in Mexico.
