Klonopin Not Helping
UpdatedI took these drugs only one day ago and do not think they are helping. Should I call my doctor?
I was on Xanax.

Yes I would definitely call your doctor to find out how long before the meds start to take effect - sometimes different prescriptions take days to start working. I would also read the full information page on Klonopin and get a list of the side effects to see if you are having any of them...
i use clonazepam regularly instead of xanax because it is less of a rollercoaster effect, it takes about 40 minutes to an hour to hit desired effect and last around 6-7 hours for me. i found xanax to be short and sweet.
depending on your xanax dosage the clonazepam might not be doing equal effect, and also you wont notice the intense slow down from xanax as you do with clonazepam, it last less of a peak and a longer duration
hope this helps, and good luck
I would also like to point out that drugs, even those that work quickly, like these Benxodiazepines, do not reach their full therapeutic effect until after you have used them consistently for a regular period of time. This can vary, depending on the person and the drug, by anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months+.
If you have only taken a few doses, your doctor is more than likely going to be reluctant to change your dose, they normally prefer you try it for a longer period to let it reach a therapeutic level in your body. That is the only way to really see if it is going to work for you.
