Ketorolac (toradol) Shortness Of Breath

Hi. I am a 61 year old male with a history of asthma and an MI 15 years ago. I had a kidney stone this week and went to the hospital. They gave me two successive ivs of toradol (pain continued after first) along with 4 liters of saline iv. The stone passed into my bladder and my pain relented.

After discharge they gave me a prescription for toradol tabs and flowmax. I noticed the first day that my breathing was shallow and I was out of breath with the least exertion. Steroids and salmeterol didn't help my breathing much. I thought it was an aftereffect of the kidney stones until I read toradol side effects.

Now 24 hours after I stopped taking Toradol I am still short of breath.

How long can I expect this to continue?

Hello, John! How are you? Are you still taking the Flowmax?

According to the FDA it can also cause such breathing issues as side effects, along with nausea, dizziness, sweating and headache.

I'm not giving any medical advice over the Internet u should see a doctor. However with that said it's more likely it was the 4 liters of fluid that put u into overload and is causing your shortness of breathe and not the toradol. once your body rids itself of the fluid you will feel a lot better. 4 liters of Iv fluid is excessive.
