K8 Oxycodone Efficacy
UpdatedHello, my name is wayne, I am a chronic pain/patient.. some days are worse than others for the last 20+ years.. yes a long time. i have a hard time with getting meds at times ..not because of my doctor. But DEA crack downs.. and different doctors i need to see for different reasons. (some doctors just don't like pain meds). Getting so hard in Washington state.... and this time of the year gets BAD for me and my pain levels... The last two months my meds have changed in looks and numbers. The old ones were v 215 or 214 and the normal #. Now they have just k/8 on one side only and are very shiny. They do not have the regular effect.. On top of this I have had problems with sour stomach/sulfur and lots of gas. I have NEVER had ANY problems with this before ... and i was sick for two weeks when i started taking them in October and pain levels have gone up... Can they be bad or a new formula? My doctor has not had time to address this. Yeah, I know he has been working on a case with the state of Washington about me even though i have 47 legal boxes of my medical history/records.. Long story short, an ass wipe almost killed me by hitting me on my bike/motorcycle. Legal suit ... I.M.E doc who represented at fault party said my doctor made me a junkie and addict, which i am not. And they also said that I am not injured. Sorry for the long post.

Wayne, sorry to hear about all your troubles. So the green oxycodone tablets with K 8 inscribed on them are 15 mg in strength. Is that the dose you were taking before? If you see the page for NDC code 10702-008 it should also list the inactive ingredients there for you. My guess is that maybe you're allergic or intolerant to the food coloring or something else used in these tablets. Another thing to consider is I've seen messages on these boards where people find the same drugs from different manufacturers not to work as well even though the active ingredients are supposed to be the same. Maybe this version from KVK Tech doesn't agree with you. Any chance your doctor can specify the manufacturer on your next refill??
Hey brother seems u have a lot of pain and no matter what state ur in it's all changed. I'm in Massachusetts. It's because of all the people dying from overdoses and abusing their scripts that has made it so tough for people who really need them . He may have given u a placebo to try and trick u and get u off the oxy ? Cuz why would u be sick for two weeks unless u were kicking. Idk ? I hope it works out for u
Anytime I have seen K on a pill it was a Dilaudid which is Hydromorphone not Oxycodone, if it doesn't have the VW on it. It could be a dummy pill, pharmacies sometimes do this. I am also a long time chronic pain patient who has just been let go of by yet another Pain Dr. The DEAD has these Dr's. So scared to prescribe it is crazy. And these *****s wonder why there are so many illicit drug overdoses. I have been on 120 mg of Methadone and 120mg of Oxycodone IR 30 mg since 06. So my question is what do I do when I run out of Meds on 1/10? No new Dr's will even agree to see me until mid February. I will admit to making a stupid mistake 3 weeks before my cheek swab.
W. I understand. U r not alone tri some are junkies addicts people with nerological pain there body's assimilate meds different. War on drugs is harming patients MD's who have to comply. All are painted as criminal. U havea voice can type call write all local state federal agencys tell others to. Will pray for you
There are oxy's that have a K on the pill, it's not a dummy drug.
Your symptoms sound like what happens to me when I take meds (or milk) made with lactose. Oxy's are made with lactose. I've noticed with my recent refill that the pill (15mg- U23) is quite a bit larger than it was (A214) so I guess I'd better re-up on the lactase enzyme too.
You bring up a very good point George. The K/8 oxycodone pills list Lactose Monohydrate as the first inactive ingredient. Wayne, are you sensitive to lactose / milk?
Thank you for your time and input. Will will look in to this and ask my doctor as well. Yes, same mg i have been taking for a long time. Because of law suit with state doc and med board, my doc will not up the dose until it is over... I have been on the same amount for years and just not working the same. And it is winter so pain level goes up 5 fold compared to summer time or spring time. Thank you.
The lactase enzyme that many of us lack is pretty expensive. The Lactaid pills are expensive too and the generics don't work for me. I buy the enzyme in 14ml bottles and add it to heavy whipping cream (for my coffee) and drink a little with any pills I take, it corrects the problem.
It looks to be against the TOS to post links here, but there's a company in The Netherlands (Disolut) that sells it quite a bit cheaper than Amazon ($18 vs $30). (I have no interest in this company. I'm in Tennessee and I'm not even sure where the Netherlands is.)
Hello Wayne,
Sorry to hear of your situation, doesn't sound very good. I cant speak about your legal situation etc and I cant advise on laws etc since im in BC, Canada and you're in Washington, USA, But regarding your medications I can try to help a little. Sounds like you're being labelled as a potential "Addict" or "Junkie" or "Narcotics-Abuser" etc etc ? And part of your legal issues are that the other party is trying to use this against you maybe ? And you're having some issues at times getting your medications? If im totally wrong please reply and feel free to inform me of the reality and tell me where im off etc. If you're having any issues being labelled as a drug addict or anything like that then ask your doctor to write you a letter stating your current treatments, and what they're for and what each medication is being prescribed for. Then if you have a lawyer give them the original BUT make sure you keep a copy no matter what. If you're having problems finding a good, understanding, consistent and compassionate doctor I understand, i really do. Here in BC, Canada its a pain in the ass to. Once you're able to get a doctor, ( if you don't already that is ), then obviously I hope you can find one and when you keep them!!! Sucks trying to find a new one after having a good doctor for years, im dealing with that myself right now and its really sucks big time. We have new guidelines regarding pain medications also and since they came out its been hell on all of us legit pain management patients. Everybody labels us drug addicts, junkies, or pill shoppers, etc which is all serious bulls*** considering i've been on a strict and honest pain control routine for 13/15 years and have a spotless perfect clean record. Being labelled those names by opinionated ****s who have no clue what they're talking about it a major piss off ill tell ya.
A good way to try and find good understanding doctors is to look online and search news stories, articles etc for doctors who have written, spoken, added quotes , stories, opinions, etc about pain medications in your area and/or search for a pain centre, or bigger group/association, etc and email them, or call and ask them if they know of any good physicians that treat pain control patients on opiates etc, or try legit good reputable pain clinics and ask them for any names or contacts for good chronic pain doctors with experience etc. The more you search the more you'll have luck finding good doctors willing to help and treat you, etc. Otherwise it sounded like you are having some medical legal issue(s) or ??? (Im also a chronic pain management patient so I understand it and live it.....) Write me a message if you like and if I can help you I will for sure!! Anytime!
Cheers,

Thank you. I will do as you are saying and write them. Sick of being treated as a criminal.
I broke my back in three different places due to having a bad seizure and falling. No one wanted to prescribe anything at all. I had to keep going to the e.r and they would prescribe pain meds but my own pcp would not help me at all. I was in excruciating pain, and I was also labeled a drug seeker and a drug addict. It's inhumane treatment for doctors to keep patients in pain. I realize that we are having an opiate epidemic but I wonder why? Not everyone is an opiate addict.
my heart goes out to you ....i know what you're going throug....best of luck....i would like to know the same thing
